I love these videos, gives me hope that HP care about repairability. I've owned this laptop for almost 3 years now, and dropped it damaging the hinge mechanism (top cover screw inserts damaged). Wow, what a fantastic and explicit video. There are people who love to give auto maintenance to our electronic devices, and this video is extremely useful. Although there is something missing...like disassembling and replacing the keyboard. I have read in blogs that this type of keyboard is difficult to disassemble and replace, that is, if a key is damaged, the entire keyboard must be replaced! I´m really happy to see such a good video for the most important steps. I purchased the envy and was totally happy with my decision, but after 11 months one of the hinges startet to wobble inside the chassy. The support request for fixing this issue was denied, because of "self inflicted damage". After some more reasearch if found out, that it is an common issue with the hinge screws. The plastic foundation is often not strong enough to hold the screw. So i´m sad, that even with such a good video, it´s nearly impossible for me, to repair my envy.

Great video. I had the old version with ryzen5 2500u. In the old model, there ARE 2 screws underneath the lower rubber stripe, and the fan is non seperable with heatsink. You take the fan, the heatsink come together, so does the plate that press down the CPU. The newer version certainly look more powerful and better designed, so you can take everything independently.

Hello fellow HP fans, I've managed to replace the display panel, back cover and the hinges. However, after the replacement the laptop doesn't react when I close the lid, even though everything is setup so it goes to sleep. As if it doesn't recognize that the lid is closed, the screen remains fully on. Also, it doesn't close quite perfectly as it used to, a milimeter gap remains. Can anyone tell me which hardware part is in charge of recognizing is the lid closed? Is there a way to fix this? Otherwise, this video greatly helped me. Nice to see a company that actually wants their users to be satisfied and capable of simpler repairs instead of tossing their technology away after a minor problem.

How about check Power Button troubleshoot and replacing? For HP Envy 13 x360 Ay0050au. Asking because I'm have black screen issue when power button pressed fan turns on then next moment it goes off. Sometimes power, caps lock LEDs blink in. Behavior is random.

Hi, I've an HP Envy 15 ee0003nl ryzen 5 4500U (bought 6 months ago) and i've a problem with my fans: they makes an high pitched sound (the frequency is around 5khz) when it's slightly under workload (enough to turn on the fans). Almost sent to HP one time (they've added new fans, but still they produce that high pitched sound) and the problem is still there. Is there any fix or is that a design issue? Is probably a problem related to the grills next to the fan? Thank you. ps. Everything is updated and I've also tried to reinstall everything and fans seems to work well but they produce that annoying sound

+RobtheBob You can't increase the video memory per-se, but you can allocate more virtual memory for your computer to use. To do this, click start, right click computer>Properties>advanced system settings>advanced>performance>advanced>(virtual memory)>change> click custom size and enter the size of hard drive space you would like to allocate to virtual memory. I would recommend and initial size of 10000mb and a maximum size of 20000mb. Click apply and reboot your system.

very bad customer service in my area i have given my laptop for hinge repair when it first came back from the service center the touch screen was not working so they took it again the second time it came the screen was not properly attached so we gave it to them again and the third time they gave back it had a dead pixel this is happening for a month now i don't know what to do , i'm not at all satisfied with the service of HP and the laptop is under base warranty
