If you use a graphite/carbon rod/bar as the sacrificial piece that attracts the rust the process will be cleaner, idk how it works but I think there won't be rust in the water, idk if it evaporates or something

@@DrRestoration huh... i did this experiment but with copper acetate solution and gasses formed at the cathode (negative) but not at the anode... what could it be? (The electrolyte was made with the classic 1:1 vinegar - H-peroxide combination then the copper and finally a bit of table salt for conductivity)
