Mike, you are the MAN. I've NEVER seen anyone succeed removing three consecutive bolts with EZ-Outs. In fact, the only time I've ever had them work is on aluminium. Those bolts probably surrendered because they new MBTS was coming and he had a welder and knows how to use it.

I'm in NC and we call it anti-seize but we pronounce it "anty seize". Jerry will be proud of the way you are maintaining his dozer!
@ToddKing2 жыл бұрын
In northern Indiana we call it "anty-seize" too. Often there not even a hint of a "t" so you get "anny-seize". So I'd be surprised if most people in southern Indiana really said anti-seize in actual conversation.

On the channel I C Weld he worked out a couple of broke off bolts by putting a short section of pipe up in the bolt hole, then stick welding the pipe to bolt. Similar to welding a nut on. Then pipe wrench on the pipe. Might take a couple tries cause the weld will be sh"t. Might also take some liquid lube to help the threads.

Transmission jack to do the bottom rollers. Right angle brackets to pull heavy hubs Right angle adapter to do flywheel and clutch removal and install. Holding pickup and car doors up with somebody balancing the door while you door hinge pins and bushings, a straight up threaded rod thru u joint yoke to do drop out differentials, belly pans along with doing transmissions.. Easy out and tap tip. Hammer a carefully selected nut over the square shank allow to drive it with a six point socket.

MBTS, thats a mouthful everytime you hand some blarney back and forth. Ya I miss not seeing him on the job site. I have warmed up to Matt just as well. Like you happy to see bolts come out as the stuff used properly before... Anti seize is what it written on the bottle and seems to last for a good long time... maybe a drip of diesel to keep it damp and pliable. Although too late to be of use to me, others should pay attention to info on hydrostatic transmissions.... If I remember right, it is closer to a planetary drive than a transmission.. that is how I remember they kinda worked. I'm 72 and haven't had tools in my hands for years... I am wrong for sure. Thank you again for some fine time in the shop and making me feel like part of the crew Mike... thats good editing

I like your videos. A man in your business doesn't stay afloat very long unless he can do at least some of his own maintenance. AND the only person who doesn't use an anti-seize product is someone has no intention of removing those bolts ever again.

Mike take thick wall pipe, cut section about 4 " long , diameter depending on size of your bolt to remove, then weld intubing to broken bolt. Then use a pipe wreck Bach to spin bolt out. may have to heats bolt also.

The right brand of penetrating oil, and a muffler gun, and you'll have to try very hard to break an "easy-out". It pains me just to spell it, I hate they so much. Get your self using Maltby brand. I know you've never heard of it, but if you try it, you'll never be without it again. RD4 Brian, are you seein this? And yes mail order a case, you won't be disappointed!

Back when I worked on helicopters it was anti-seize, but we called it silver slime. Gold wasn’t available then. Early 80s, but have sworn by it since finding it. In the salt belt ( winter road salt ) I do brake parts and lug nuts religiously- a coat between the wheel and rotors let’s you take the wheels off after running in a salt bath for half of the year.
