Right nightmare of a job. Had to do the VNT actuator on our Caddy when we bought it the other month. So dropped the turbo and when I had it off I seen the shaft had a bit of play and the compressor wheeel ahd been touching the housing so bought a new core and swapped over the compressor and turbine housings. Cleaned the VNT mechinism while it was all apart as well. I did it all from underneath without taking off the inlet manifold. Means you have to drop the EGR cooler as well though. Just dropped the whole turbo out from below. While waiting on the core I ended up taking the inlet manfoild off to clean it anyway. Before all this I was curious and took the rocker cover off, low and behold the camshaft and lifters were worn, so ordered the full kit from Drakside and did the timing belt and water pump while I was at it. Fair to say the Caddy has had me doing more repairs than I have in years. Good fun though.

cheers mate! It split on a Sunday morning, minutes before I was meant to be going on a 4 hour trip, the only bit of flat steel I could find was an old shovel haha and its held strong for about a year now, just hadn't got around to removing it completely!
