Kudos to both of you! You did a fantastic job getting out that tree trunk and now you have the perfect gardening spot. Love it! 👏👏

Great job guys. Taking a stump out just using hand tools is something to be commended. It also shows others how physical gardening is. Congratulations on a job well done. 👍🏻

@@annamorreale9458 I was thankful Reg jumped in I would have probably turned it into a two day project. My thought for the next one is just use the saw from the start and cut everything . The spud bar is what popped it out and shoot the camera shut off 😔Reg and I kinda did a celebratory dance when it popped🫣it was fun and physical. My reason for working out is to be able to garden 💪. Anna have a fun filled weekend . You have any projects ?

Hi, In the past, I have taken out a number of stumps, so I know how much hard work they are. I have always ended up having to have help from my husband! Well done 😊😊😊

@@paulinecrispin121 I was so glad when Reg stepped in and afterwards he even said it was fun. At times I’m prolly difficult to work with because I really want to learn how to do projects like this on my own. 🙄 I am so fortunate Reg appreciates and respects my passion to learn and do .

I did the exact same thing on a MASSIVE 20 year old forsythia shrub, and all of its "little" offspring. The offspring was work but did not present too much of a problem. The main shrub, however had a huge stump that I used my receiprocating saw, heavy pry bar (just like yours) and my hand pruners and hatchet for smaller roots. It was just me alone, and it took a while, but you are SOOO right. It was so rewarding!!
@gardeningonthewestforkwith89942 ай бұрын
@@annadam I know how unruly forsythia can get my parents had one out of control! I’m fortunate Reg supports this passion and will jump in on these projects that I want to learn from. As you said we both felt accomplished. Kinda looking forward to getting the other one out . Don’t you love a reciprocating saw? I’ve trimmed branches for a girlfriend trees and it is easily handled. That’s what I enjoy about this KZbin hobby finding people like you who feel the joy the fun in these projects . Fortunately I’m strong and healthy enough to continue doing these things. We must keep doing this or we won’t always do them right? Have a great Saturday Anna.

What are you going to do with that monster stump? 😮 You know, “Stumperies” are a “thing”.
@gardeningonthewestforkwith89942 ай бұрын
@@tinag9538 yes for now we are contemplating we’ve a large muskrat hole . We are always working to keep our stonewall that edges the river sturdy from undermining river critters. The stumpery is going to be the large stump from the Willow. Sadly it is now over 60 years old we’ve had dead and diseased limbs removed yet our tree guy John keeps whispering to me it will need removed in my lifetime. So that will be my stumpery 😞😏🤔. Have you created one ? What plants are you using ? Where do you garden? Never easy loosing trees on this small plot.
