Yes,last year was a testing time for our garden plants. An awful lot survived though. The heat depleted our energy levels...so watering pooped us all. It was a case of " I'll water myself instead." No forecast here so far for freezing temperatures, just strong winds which don't uproot my kind of plants. Your look back at your garden was fabulous🎊👏You have such a backbone of plants that anything will add more interest. 🎉💞 Happy New Year 2025 to you and Reg 🥂🎄💞

The river has stayed within its banks now for over 20 years . The firs 10 years it would flood tha backyard with several feet. Since then a camera has been attached to a bridge which crosses the river about 3 tenths a mile from our home. The corp of engineers that regulate the Stonewall Jackson damn now can be alerted to the river being at its bank full and then they close the pots which allow water to flow out. In 1985 the river actually was an inch inside this basement about 18 feet above normal level. We were not living in this home at that time. @@gardeningonthewestforkwith8994 just bulbs at present and trying to outwit the squirrels. Believe me, they are more cunning than a fox. When they see me out in the garden this time of year they actually stop on my fences and stare me out. Now,last year I covered my bulbs with chicken wire until the green popped up. Well,as soon as I uncovered them the squirrels actually dug up as many as they could for badness, not to eat. Supposed to be deer and rodent proof bulbs but I believe they think they are above a rodent💞

Hi Loved watching your repotting. The Christmas cactus, along with the poinsettias really brighten up the winter months. Reg,my husband is just like you about the knives I sometimes use "oh you're going to poison us😮" Of course, the knives are all in one stainless steel so they don't harbour bacteria. Old knives I relegated to outside anyway. I haven't afforded a hori hori knife yet. The foldable handsaw is cheaper and does the trick. Just another suggestion for you. I do use a potting mat which clips around the sides so it will help with spillage in your kitchen. I mostly pot outside. Enjoy 💯💕

@@77sun222 they make potting mats ?? 🤔😉as OCD that I am when it comes to potting up plants inside I’ll get my sweeper out and wash the knives ( I have correct tools yet I’m lazy at times too) . Sometimes I decide to just get things done probably just like you on spur of the moment . An ole gardener like me kinda knows the plant will survive my less than professional techniques 🤗😏. Great hearing from you .
