Thanks Chris, I had not realised that the left hand bolt stayed in place, so this video was very helpful and instructive.

👌🏻 Don’t forget Chris, if you are removing a flat you will need to jack the vehicle up a little more to get a fully inflated wheel on.

Great point - thanks.

This brings back a few memories. When I was 17 (a long time ago) I had a Renault 5, being young and enthusiastic I actually practised changing a wheel! The first time in anger was of course late at night, rear wheel in the rain and after a long trip to Germany and France, somewhat loaded down with shopping (remember those days?). Now Renault cleverly put the brace and toolkit inside the spare wheel and the wheel under the bonnet on top of the engine. Brilliant, a piece of cake. That is until I went to put the jack under the car and the tyre was so flat that I couldn't get the jack under the heavily laden rear. Thankfully I did have recovery and even they had trouble getting a trolley jack underneath. Oh happy days! I spent many years as a driving instructor and on occasion would get a puncture on a lesson. No problem, learning opportunity. The vast majority hadn't a clue and I often wonder if they ever drew on that 'lesson'. Great video Chris, lots of valid points made. For the record I hate those foam filler kits. Give me a proper wheel anytime.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment with this. All a great learning experience, isn't it!

Thanks Chris, wish I had seen this before my first puncture! I now have a tyre pressure warning light displayed. Could you explain how to fix this? I've looked at the manual but no joy. Many thanks Jonathan.

I wish you showed where the jack actually connects underneath the van - I know you showed us where it should connect but I don’t know where and how in that area it should connect

take to opportunity to put some copper grease on the inside of the wheel, stops any corrosion and makes it much easier to remove the wheels next time.

That’s a good tip! My 20 inch alloys are a major struggle to remove because of this.

So does the 4motion have a spare wheel?
@CaliforniaChris2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't, unfortunately.

My 2010 SE 4Motion has a spare steel wheel, why don't the newer 4 Motions have one?
