Important to note, as someone else has asked - when you’ve finished manoeuvring onto the blocks, you will need to take the handbrake off or you won’t be able to swivel the seats. When you take the handbrake off, the vehicle will rock back down about a degree. It’s quite disconcerting if you aren’t ready for it. And of course it reduces the amount of lean you can level out. 👍🏻

So when you have to drop the hand brake to swivel the drivers seat on a DSG does Park lock the wheels?

Yes it does. But it rocks back down up to about a degree until it engages the pawl.

I have a VW Campervan book (Cool recipes and camping hacks for VW campers by Dave Richards) that says ‘it is important that you should always - always, without fail -reverse up onto your levelling blocks: it is something to do with leading and trailing shoes in the back brakes. Whatever, if you reverse onto them, the handbrake will hold the bus, if you go up forwards it won’t’. Can I assume that this is written for the vintage vans and not the modern vehicles?

Hi Chris. I would like to know if you can add the radio station logos on to the vw6.1 infotainment system, not the discovery media pack. I have added a sd card with the logos and can not see how to transfer them to the selected radio station. I can see other models can but no instructions for this yet. Cheers

I really do enjoy your videos - but a 12.5 minute film telling California owners how to use ramps to level their van may just be the definitive proof that someone who pays over £70k for a Transporter probably has more money than sense? Of course that may just be jealousy as I struggle to convert an older van into my own VW Caledonia “Loch” edition on a budget of £15k! Stay safe - and keep ‘em coming…

I have been tent camping for many years but have just purchased a VW camper, it makes sense to watch something like this before making a F@@@ up while doing it for the first time. I think your comment is in bad taste. Have you finished your van as I’m making this two years after your post.
