This just saved my special table after years of trying all the others! I bought my first really nice table 4 years ago and my son ruined it with a hot cup of coffee while I was out of town. More damage followed from my other kids. My mistake for not having a glass topper. I have been so mad for 4 years, and tonight I restored my Scovby Danish table using this technique with the lacquer thinner and stain. So Thankful for this video!!!!

Thank you so much for making this video! I came home this evening to find my wife furious because I left a bottle of spray cleaner with bleach that had a slight leak on her grandmother's dining room table. It had left a white ring on the table around the bottom of the bottle and after trying to scrub it off with no success I turned to KZbin and came across this video. I just want to say thank you for creating and posting this video, I tried the Restore a finish along with the Lacquer thinner as you instructed and after about five minutes of light scrubbing with 00 steel wool, the stain was gone and you could not even tell it was ever there. So again thank you so much for your break down of what works and what doesnt, it saved me a ton of time trying to figure it out.

I’m in a nice hotel and left a glass of water on the wooden desk like a dummy because I thought it was coated in poly. Wrong! I used the iron trick very carefully on the medium heat setting, checking it frequently and constantly moving the iron over the shirt. It worked!!!!! Thank you and praise Jesus! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

ThisIsTheEnd Same here, nice hotel...sweating beverage. I did not have access to an iron but instead used a blow dryer and dry wash cloth and it worked. I heated wood and then placed wash cloth over it and rolled an orange across the wash cloth for the heat impact effect.

Absolutely stunned. I had a mahogany table with a white/pink/purple water stain on it. Saw the 'ironing' method on here, and gave it a go. I didn't believe it could possibly work (and didn't really think anything could on the horrible mark). I was totally stunned by the result. The main mark completely disappeared, and I've been left with a slight ring on the surface. Thank you so much.

All the other videos say to use low heat on the ironing. I used the medium heat as you suggested and was able to watch the heat/water mark disappear as I worked. I tried a few methods I'd read online and nothing even touched the water ring stains I had. Tried the iron method you suggested and bam it is gone! Had three tables badly damaged, SEVERAL spots and the iron took care of them all! Thank you so much. Ps. I'd heard before that a hairdryer works as well, but I don't own one, so that's why I gave the iron a go.

Thank you so much for this video. Watched it in its entirety (well, my wife did after I forwarded it to her) and, following your suggestion to use whichever method worked, started with the iron and cotton cloth. This was to remove a couple or more water marks on the surface of a writing bureau. It worked! Very pleased with the result and minimal cost. Just 10 mins careful heating. Thanks again.

I would love for you to make a more informative video describing the different actual finishes and which meathod works with each different finish ie: Lacquer, polyurethane, shellac Etc. and why it works. I feel that the overall method of trying many things to see what works can possibly be very damaging to your furniture if you use the wrong technique. This is exactly why I want to be informed with exact information so perhaps a video for not just a regular homeowner but a woodworker or someone with a little more expertise in the craft that still needs knowledge in finishing.
