When I go to the bike park near me I like to mix it up and get some flow out of the way to warm up, then hit the tech stuff for a few trails then go back to flow. I get an even balance of both.

I think Remy suggested once to ride like you have no chain. It seems to make you think to go faster because you can't peddle if you're going up hill. I once broke my chain a derailleur and was really far from the end trail head. Every time I would get to the top of a hill I knew I could not hit the brakes until I came to a complete stop. It was an adrenaline rush to go so fast!

I think it was gee Atherton that broke his chain just at the start of his run for DH world cup one time and he ended winning that race. His run was wild

Just focus on the fun, ride with in your comfort zone, and to progress focus on your movements and line over the speed and risk.

It was once said to me by a wise person before I had to speak publicly in front of hundreds of people. He said, Bo I know you're nervous. You probably have butterflies in your stomach. Just remember you will always have butterflies. All you have to do is make them fly in formation. I'll never forget that.

Yeah once you’re on the bike and get some small drops and tech it feels so much better. Remy does ride on the edge but I love how he shows us that he checks the surfaces and how much “prep” he does before he absolutely rips it.
@14MaddMaxx3 жыл бұрын
Great advice Remy!!! I always looked at the line but never focused on the line. Huge difference. Today was great, I knew my heals were down, where my pedals were, where my body position was and rode out of some pretty sketchy situations just by being more focused. I’ve been riding for 5 decades and this was so different. Just way more comfortable and confident. Way more fun too!

You’re an animal. Reps until the line feels shredded. Dedication to the art. You’re right the videos do teach a lot. I still can’t fathom that drop off the line though.This was a heavy line you set. You’ve clearly done a lot of drops to steep slabs. Wonder where’s the best feature to develop that confidence? In and out burger?

Confidence comes with doing the same thung over and over and being consitent at it. In N out, Gouranga, Hueso.. anything is good.

Cool video! Side question for a other french in BC, how do we get those nice Propain bikes here in BC? With wothing really available here, I'm turning with interest to a propain from Germany and a online order who more likely will take months. Is there any seller here in Canada? Or is it best to fly back to Europe, catch up with family and come back with a bike ? :-D

You'll probably get use to it. I carry a hydration pack because of the heat, so I have to carry one. Now I can't ride good without it. It seems it helps me stay to the back of the bike, and a lighter front wheel, and a whole lot easier to manual over stuff.
