Another wonderful reaction. I am happy to see you dive deep into Ren's early music. I love this song, even though it, too, is sad. Hauntingly beautiful, though. This song was released in May 2016, but I believe Ren wrote this much earlier when he was still misdiagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and mental health issues. I read somewhere that the girl in the video is his then-girlfriend, Bibi. She started a GoFundMe campaign that allowed Ren to go to Belgium to finally get diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Ren explained that it was freezing cold that night, and he thought he was going into hypothermia during the filming. Here is an excerpt of what Ren wrote about this song. “The song came about after a nervous breakdown following lots of visits to [the] emergency room after some scary health problems. It's a song for anybody who has faced any kind of mental challenges, depression, anxiety, or health struggles while in a relationship and all the fears that come along for the ride with that. It is also a song for the courageous and wonderful people who support their other halves, family or friends during times of crisis.”

I loved your reaction to this, it was soo very natural and like you, I know that place, maybe it's in a different area code but ohhh yessss I've known that place, sometimes I still suddenly wind up finding myself in that dark place. Oddly Ren's music, his gift has helped me calm myself more, but there are days, sometimes literally for days, let's just say the other parts of me do cause quite the chaos within. This song literally broke my heart the first time I watched the video and I got it completely. I just cried listening to it again, it's my favorite of his I think, and even though it's heartbreaking, I get the uplifting half of it as well. BTW you are absolutely beautiful and I'm truly sorry that you've been to that place and I truly hope you are in the better place always now 🤗

@@redheadedneighbor I was literally less than a tenth of an inch away from my mind never thinking again after my father died years ago, I'll let you paint that moment in your own head, sooo yeah I truly get that amazed about making it through, I'm sooo fortunate to be alive, and it's funny for years after I never realized how fortunate I was, cause even though I didn't die, I felt dead inside, I got married, and was cheated on, that failed, finally met the love of my life, she died in my arms and took part of me with her, I should have died, I'll spare the details of days in a corner, you'd think I'd be dead, this is the point to all this, I'm still here, and stronger for all the pain and loss, and painful as life has been, it's also this crazy beautiful chaos, and it is beautiful, order isn't beautiful, you'd think it would be, bit chaos that is just life, that's where beauty resides

To see him so thin and weak breaks my heart. To see him cry shatters it. He said thay this was filmed at the end of a really cold October. After 3 scary ER visits and a nervous breakdown. He wanted to show the things about himself that were ugly, his body and alchemize it into something beautiful. Very well done. I am new here and will be going through ALL of your Ren content. Of course there's his years of illness to consider but I still have trouble understanding how on earth he was pretty much unknown before Hi Ren broke him out. His song writing, his lyrics, the different genres, all as good as each other. How songs like Chalk Outlines have not been huge hits is beyond me. Apparently he's virtually written his next album already which is guitar based I think he said. Just thinking about songs you could react to have you ever heard of Radical Face, possibly as he's from there, anyway he does all his own stuff, mainly acoustic guitar/piano and was one of those that I stumbled across when I was down a you tube rabbit hole 3-4 years ago 😂 Anyway if you haven't, a good one to start with would be a song called The Mute which has really good lyrics and a good home made video made with friends and family.

Just a word of advice- put a bit of effort into making yout thumb pic match the tone of the video! Do you think this track - or a track like Su!cide, warrant a big beaming grin? Even if that IS a frame from the start- you really shoulda grabbed a shot of yourself from within the song with an expression that matches the tone of the song - or its a huge tonal disonance- and can even look disrespectful. Best solution- spend an hour to grab some shots of yourself from various reactions that match given emotions and label them - like - happy, excited, sad, shocked etc then use one as needed.

I’m sorry that you don’t approve of the thumbnail. They are not my strength. I admit that. But as far as my expression, it is the way I felt.
