This beautiful man (Ren) has enabled us to have important conversations that are hard. Yes these songs are sad and emotional but look at us! We’re talking and crying together! And this is what may actually save some who are in a dark place. He has enlightened us and is making it ok to be vulnerable and say the hard things. This was a beautiful reaction. Thank you ❤

I’ve watched “For Joe” over and over again and it breaks my heart every time. This was obviously a very difficult one for you both. You are beautiful people with kind souls and that’s why Ren’s words resonate deep inside. Try to see the positive message in this song but never apologise for feeling empathy. I came to this channel through Ren’s music but I keep coming back because of you both. You are lovely people and I (and many others) really appreciate you. 🙏🏻❤️🩹 Freckled Angels stand strong.

I believe that after 13 years Ren is bringing closure to this part of his journey. He traveled home recently & did some very positive things, so it isn’t all doom & gloom. This song was made for Joe’s parents but he decided to share it with us. Beautiful reaction otherwise.

absolutely right. in joes despair i think he saved rens life. when you think of ren;s darkest days-23 hours a day curled up in pain, unable to keep food down, with little hope. how many of us would have chosen to end it-I would have- but because ren saw the pain joes suicide caused to his family and friends he couldn;t do that to his family. but then came the proper diagnoses, the donated stem cell transplant, the therapy in canada, and blowing up You Tube and ren is allowed to save a small sectionof the world. we owe Joe hughes a debt we will never be able to repay.

I was contemplating what would hold my body weight, was at correct height, what noose I could use just two weeks ago, did not see no purpose maintaining the pain of existing more, by accident I fell on the Ren train, cried an ocean, still crying, realised I had to live out my natural life, despite ilness, despite sadness, despite depression, because I cannot justify causing this pain on those few who like me, love me, would go through similar trauma as Ren did 13 years ago, just because of my selfish decision. I´m now hooked on these reaction videos, but I only cry, as I want to face the problems, I want to live. !

I can't speak for all people in situations where death becomes an option, but one way someone gets to that point is when certain things happen that force you to take a good look at your life and you realize that you've messed up. Messed it all up. Sometimes you might find yourself in a position that you've made the wrong choices and have done so many people wrong especially when you didn't mean to and didn't realize what you were doing until the moment something opened your eyes to it all, and you can see what you've done and you can see that you can't make it right. Like when you lose someone that meant the world to you but they were one that you've wronged and now their gone and you can never make it right, never make it up to them, never say you're sorry, never make amends. Situations like that can make you feel like you've messed this life up so bad that you just want to start over and the closest thing you can think of to that is the end. . . . If it wasn't for my son there'd be nothing left for me to do. Sometimes it feels like he'd be better off without me, like I'm just a hindrance to him and his life, and while I might be precisely that, there's a tiny chance that my death will be worse for him than my life and I refuse to purposely do something that would do him harm. . . . . . . . So here I am. Just waiting.

You are not an idiot, Dominika. You are just a beautiful, empathic person. 🖤 I was waiting for your reaction to listen to this song for the first time. And yes, this is heartbreaking and so real. That's why Ren is special for so many people. Because he is real. For me, this has a bit different effect than to a girl you mentioned or any other person who has lost someone by taking their own life. For me it is just a heavy reminder that I have to stay in this world as long as possible, because I don't want people who love me to feel the way that Ren feels. Actually, that has always been the only reason for me still being alive, but hearing something like this - those words, the pain, the despair - it makes it even more realistic... Sending you lots of love, guys. 🖤

Everything that Ren has been through, (losing Joe, going through so much pain with his health, gaining and losing his dreams at a young age) all of that has made him the person that he is, the artist that he is, the person that so many of us love. I really think/hope he is close to coming to terms with losing Joe. Going back to Anglesey for the first time in years, seeing Joe's parents for the first time in 12 years, raising money for the RNLI, openly speaking/singing about Joe - I really hope he is coming to terms with it, that he is stopping blaming himself. It was not your fault, Ren. You have honoured your friend. Continue to honour him by living your life as fully as you can and without guilt. We love you.

I totally agree with previous comments both of you have such beautiful hearts. Your reactions are honest and reveal your vulnerability and empathy. Ren went to school with my daughter so as you can imagine I am very familiar with his history. We are very proud of him, he has just donated £21,000 to the RNLI volunteer service in my home town, these men & women put their own lives at risk Daily rescuing people in difficulty on the sea. They were called out the night Joe jumped and in the darkness in spite of far from calm waters spent all night and all day for 7 days trying to find him but sadly the ocean had claimed him. In addition he gave Joe’s parents £8,000. I believe Ren is a musical genius, it’s a privilege to be living when he is with us creating these masterpieces. Please continue reacting exactly as you do now, there is no shame in crying, we all cry along with you 🤗 x

I come to this channel because of the great empathy you two have, so it is understandable that it affects you so much. I am just like that, I always cry like a baby. However, as tragic as Ren‘s loss (and every other story of people deciding to take their lives) are, I don’t think that this song is all about sadness and grief. In the end, there is a positive message. Ren knows that Joe played a big part in becoming the person he is today, and he might still do as his freckled guardian angel. This song is also very much about acceptance, and if I understand Ren right, he is not suffering anymore from this terrible loss, but he is holding Joe in loving memory.

Firstly thank you for your empathy in this reaction. I always look forward to your Ren reactions. As a fire officer I've seen a few suicides during my career and it's never easy. It hurts and affects my firemen although they are total strangers, and after each one we get together and ask is everyone OK or need counselling or just time off to deal with the situation. I feel that mentally the victim is not in the right mindset, otherwise they would not do it. There's no way to make sense of this act if your not suffering yourself, I just feel so sad for them.

Thank you so much for your genuine and heartfelt reaction. I really appreciate your honesty, and watching you two interact with each other during the performance was heart-warming. You two are such beautiful souls. My younger self used to avoid showing vulnerability, but at 57 y/o I have stopped caring about what others might think and will show my emotions without it making me question my toughness. This song, like many other pieces, evokes a visceral reaction in me. Ren’s song "Su!cIde" gutted me, and I was not able to watch or listen to it again until now. I have not even been able to watch a single reaction to it. It was a sad, haunting, gut-wrenching tribute. My best friend took his life 38 years ago. However, after listening to "To Joe" several times, I came to the realization that as sad and emotional as this song is, it has had a healing effect on me and has given me a sense of closure. Even the lyrics of the epilogue from "Su!cIde" that "gutted" me impacted me differently this time around. Anthony Ray (@AnthonyRay) said after reacting to this performance (I am paraphrasing) that he felt that after all these years, Ren seems to have found a measure of acceptance regarding the loss of his best friend. Anthony's comment suddenly made me aware of the song's impact on me, and I am actually able to watch or listen to "Su!cIde" again. Although I will probably not watch any reactions to it, as I consider this song to be much too personal, and watching someone else's grief would only compound my pain. Thomas Goldschmidt (@thomasgoldschmidt298) remarked, "For Joe" is a continuation of "Su!cIde," displaying the five stages of grief, adding acceptance to the end of his last song…..This song and the sobbing hug he received from Joe's mom after showing the video bring closure to all involved! I think ending "To Joe" with lines from "Freckles Angels" left me with a more optimistic outlook. It is as if Ren is trying to tell us that even though some of our loved ones are physically gone from our life, their memory continues to live in and through us. I think that is why I got a sense of closure and peace.

This was a heartfelt eulogy to his best friend Joe. So freakikng beautiful. I like that he pulled the first section from 'Suicide'. The middle played a bit against 'Dominoes'. I think Ren is working towards a resolution of his feelings ,this is a compilation of 3 songs . Begining at the newest from Su*side ,the middle part is from Dominoes and the end is from Freckled Angels . This makes me think his bringing it all into a whole, is symbolic of him starting to heal and understand what he carries with him . He has written , that he showed this song to Joe's parents and that they all cried together and that he felt a little lighter after that . He was also able to give them some money towards a caravan ,they said that they will name it Joe so they will have him close on all their adventures . As well as that Ren was able to give $21000 to the volunteer rescue service that searched for his friend. I think he also met up with some old mates who he shaired this tragedy with .So i think some healing and some positive has come of this ,for him . I certainly hope so and I know you do to. Never apologise for feeling things deeply or for expressing your empathy and pain . The fact that people feel ashamed of their sadness is one of the things Ren is working against . Because those emotions left bottled up in the dark grow and become toxic to us .Ren shines a spotlight on them so we can heal . I always look foward to your reactions , the next Ren release is Money Game 3 so relax for a while ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
