There's lots of a brag rap about it but it's still very much 'on topic' for Ren. He put a post on his community page to say that the 'illest' mainly refers to his mental/physical health (although he's aware of the other meaning too, obviously). He's inviting us on a tour of his mind and he's brutally honest about the things we might find in there.

This is more then just bragging and showing off his skills. When you get deeper into his catalog you'll get Easter eggs and callbacks that you're missing now. His bars are much deeper the double meanings and rhyme schemes. If you read up on what he's had to go through and what he's going through now you'll read even more in-between the bars like the "I don't feel so well" section. Second stanza is some of the side effects and damage caused by the Lyme disease. The Lyme ate away at the membrane surrounding his brain. That's why he's in Canada being treated by one of the only doctors in the World who may be able to save him from brain damage and give him a chance at a long and healthy life. I never usually break down my own words because I love letting people apply their own meaning, but there was one line I wanted to explain. The title of the song. Alot of people took this to mean "The greatest Of Our Time" "Look for all the answers that I never seem to find, Till then I guess I'm still the illest of our time" Its my reluctance to be the illest - the clue is in the word 'guess' - ive spent the better part of a decade looking for solutions to the damage lyme disease dealt with countless doctors visits, and am still in that boat. "Illest" can also mean "dopest" "best" etc. So it's a bit of a double entendre. Same as "Sick boi" This theme is repeated with the line "elementary dear Watson you might find" cause Sherlock Holmes was always searching for the clues to piece the puzzle together, which is very relatable when trying to piece together parts of a very complex health picture, anyone with a very complex illness will relate to almost having to become your own detective. And finally "A pathologic entity - if everything is set in stone then this is how its meant to be" Acceptance that this might just be the cards I've been dealt. To search for answers and simultaneously accept that chronic illnest may be your fate is a bit of a paradox because it is the rejection of acceptance that spurs you forward in the persuit of answers, but it is the acceptance that you may always be sick that let's you lead a more peaceful life... so one must walk this contradictory line between both opposing states to have the motivation to find the answers whilst not being so outcome dependent. Big enough to have the power to create a standardized treatment for Lyme Disease & an early detection system... hyuge you gotta be hyuge. That takes millions upon millions upon millions of dollars, but Ren ain't rich never has been most of the money goes to medicine. Some of the reactors have more subscribers than he does. that's why he feels like Atlas sometimes maybe like the weight of the medical world is on his shoulders but he can't shrug it off.

100% Definitely not auto tune. There is no way in hell he would pull that crap. He doesn’t need that with his level of talent. 😊 Not sure what else you have listened to but the Ren rabbit hole is real. He is so versatile. He makes all his own beats. Except, Losing It the beat is a remix from Fisher.

The Dude clearly thought this track was Rubbish from his Body Language, Patronizing Comments and Condescending Giggling🤣but was clever enough not to say his true feelings knowing all the Negative Comments he'd get. The Title obviously went over his Head as he couldn't stop Laughing at Rens last line, thinking that Ren was referring to himself as the "illest" meaning the Best, when everyone who knows Rens Story knows the Meaning of "illest" in this context is referring to Ren actually being the "illest of our Time" as in Medically ill and always Medically Sick.
