Or swung all the way into the spotlight, casting a dark dark shadow! And yeah, Strawhat Dynasty folks: the pendulum thing certainly sounds to me like a reference to that bit of Hi Ren.

I’ve heard the brighter the light the darker the shadow quote many years ago from Stephen fry. It’s a fire analogy tho.
@DavidLindes3 ай бұрын
@@summittaedae2323 I've seen references to "The brighter the light, the darker the shadow." as being attributed to Carl Jung (so presumably from the 1930s or so? Or perhaps as late as 1961)... wouldn't surprise me a bit if it's an observation that goes further back than that, though.

@@JadeSummer1999 Yeah I also tried hard on hearing anything, but it seems to be just our brain's pattern recognition which is obsessed with connecting dots out of everything. It would really be cool though if this was actually intentional lmao.

23:49 can't remember who said it, maybe Knox? But he also references the movie Zombieland on the head tap part which I thought was funny. A rule in that movie is the "double-tap" to make sure they're truly dead! Not sure if Ren had that intention. I saw it the same way as you guys, didn't know the term "soning" someone but I definitely felt like it was a demeaning and belittling move... love that you can clearly hear the taps too. It's a really nice touch to end the song! ✌️

So here's the list of charges that I think can be levelled against Kujobeats. KZbin - 1 - Issuing a false copyright strike. (Kujobeats didn't clear the copyright on the Bulgarian choir sample, therefore the initial copyright breach issue isn't with Ren, it's with Kujobeats). Beatstars - 1 - Copyfraud. 2 - Breach of contract. 3 - Defamation. Kujobeats - 1 - Copyfraud. 2 - Breach of Contract. 3 - Anticipatory Breach of Contract. 4 - Libel. 5 - Defamation of character. 6 - Blackmail. 7 - Extortion. 8 - Fraud (claiming publicly he was songwriter on Sick Boi). 9 - Intellectual property theft. Kujobeats GF - 1- Libel. 2 - Threats of violence against Ren. 3 - Defamation of contract and false representation. (re-writing a false contract section and presenting it as a bona fide legal contract content). There are probably a couple of nuanced ones I can't think of but a damn good music lawyer could. I have no doubt that Ren already has one waiting for Kujobeats to fuck up, again. Kujobeats has already said that he's dealt with this sort of issue "before", which tells me he has documented previous in doing this sort of thing. That's literally an admission of guilt as to committing the same fraudulent activity before. Now imagine Beatstars goes through Kujobeats' back catalogue. I don't know how many beats he has on the platform, let's say it's 500 as a rough guesstimate? Now picture that for all intents and purposes 50% (as a top end) of them have stolen un-cleared samples in them, that's 250 charges of Copyfraud and Breach of contract just for starters. The can of worms Kujo opened by getting Sick Boi removed due to his actions, just turned into a can of whoopass, and, he was staring straight down the barrel when it went off. Not a good look.
@francescavandaele9853 ай бұрын
Yeah, it also seems to me unlikely that this one beat that Ren purchased is the only one of Kujo's beats with a stolen sample. It just happened that Sick Boi went big. Kujo has probably gotten away with it multiple times and only got caught because the song got popular enough to come to the attention of the sample's owners.
@sharper683 ай бұрын
Well thought out, I did not put it in this perspective. This the kind of problem would already be facing charges if he was screwing with a label. He would best go very quiet very fast with a quiet but definitive giving back sick boy by washing his hands of it. He does not have a real claim on his part from ren anyway. Cujo's plan was pretty clearly not well thought out.

He has a handful of other songs on there that say "producer", which he's completely entitled to if his beat was used. He should have a "producer" credit for Sick Boi too! But to put "SONGWRITER" in big letters under that song is either petty or straight-up delusional!

Ren tried harder than anyone else would have to come to a mutually acceptable way to sort things out. He made Kujo such a generous offer that only a complete fool would have turned down. Right Now Kujo could be reaping in the financial benefits as well as having a share in a hugely loyal and supportive fan base and so many opportunities work wise than he can’t even dream of having now. Why he chose to play things the way he did has cost him dearly.
