Ren wrote the piano part of Money Game Part 3. and he recorded it (played it) on the LP. In the live video only he needed someone to play it. So you could experience his piano skills earlier already. Also 'For Joe' is singing with piano playing.

Was about to post the same. He composed Money Game 3 etc 😊

Anyone who has watched the extended BTS version by Wolf Johnson, will have seen Ren letting lose on the Piano. He was wallowing in the pleasure of ramping that 150k Yamaha Grand Piano.

Ren adapted the opening of MG3. It was not his composition it was a very famous piece by Grieg.

So what most people consider “classical music” - it too is split into eras, periods, or genres. The genres Ren displayed here are the following in the order they appear in Ren’s song: Impressionist era (Debussy), Romance era, Classical era (Mozart), Early Romantic (Beethoven & Schubert), Baroque Period (Bach). Ren is more of a genre bender than most people might expect, even in this one song.
@sylv7722 ай бұрын
The composer I thought of while listening to Mackay was Chopin.
@supertuscans95122 ай бұрын
That’s a very interesting take but there is one part of it I have to take exception to. Bach clearly was writing in the era known as Baroque and whilst some of his music may also be described as Baroque I would argue that the majority of it is not and cannot be assigned to a period, it is effect timeless. He without doubt is the most influential composer who has ever existed and his influence is as relevant to music composition today as it was when he was alive. Quite probably the greatest musician of all time, he was in that sense a complete freak of nature.
@survivalrush2 ай бұрын
Cool, thx for the breakdown. I enjoy some classical music, but didn't realise there were specific types/themes of composition, split by era. Appreciate the info 👍🏻
@kuolemanlaakso16962 ай бұрын
No example for the romantic era? Probably the greatest ever composer of piano music is in that period, Chopin...

I love this piece and could easily see it in a movie. Understanding who Ren is, how much he has been through, and the losses he has endured add to the emotion I feel. ❤ R.I.P. Joe and Callum. And let us not forget Lewis Darroch, who perished while attempting to rescue his friend, Callum. Thank you, Ren, for honoring their lives with such love. ❤

This could easily be a soundtrack. Ren was able to tell a full story without a word. I don’t believe he’s released an instrumental before this. In the live chat, Ren invited us to use this song to remember any loved ones we have lost. He’s been playing piano since he was 13 or 14. I think his next album will include more piano. Sam said this was one of the videos they filmed last summer. It’s in the Badlands of Alberta Canada.

He did and the piece he played was. The first part to the classic composer. Grieg's piano concerto. A very well recognised intro for anyone that listens to classical music. Ren plays just the very beginning of it. After that it's all original.

And Ren is self taught on everything he plays. He did attend Bath Spa University for a bit before he got really sick. And yea he does treatment until end of June in Calgary He said he is moving to LA at the end of the year. That should be a change for him..

The start of money game three is the only sample you get now I don’t know music theory that well but that snippet in the beginning of game three with the piano camera twirls and you can’t tell which one of them it is but then you can finally tell it takes off the hood because he has the red tie and the rings. So you could tell right there even though it’s only like a 15 second or maybe 22nd intro that played the hell out of the piano to hear it like this with that switch and some of the techniques that he did I don’t know how to explain certain emotion was sick that word I think will be very proud of this. You didn’t see the butterfly halfway through the video he’s there flapping his wings saying goodbye.

Music is a form of expression. If someone like me doesn't understand and doesn't have an education in the art of music, he will only enjoy this song with 50% and maybe he won't even get to it, that's why it's important to educate yourself in every direction, we don't have to go deep, just slide on the surface. Let's devote ourselves fully to what works best for us, but let's not forget to look in other directions as well, that's the only way we can compare and enjoy things. But it takes time and they try to deny us that, don't have time for anything, just be a sheep.

He only played the white keys...wow...hes amazing...thanks guys appreciate you👍.
@ManWithoutThePants2 ай бұрын
What do you mean by that? That he doesn't change keys during the piece or implying playing white keys is easiest. Playing white keys isn't usually easiest. B major or G# minor are more friendly to play lots of stuff like with scales all your longer fingers fall on black keys. Chopin already suggested in his time for beginners to start with B Major since it's easier to finger. He's playing quite well, but he's not technically superior on keyboard. There are some imperfections there, at least in the cross handed arpeggios. But in general he's good enough to express his stuff anyway and I doubt his trying to become some classical concert pianist.
