Yep. You got it right. Screech kills Jenny--The police kill Screech---then Ren rewinds time from 2019 to 2005 to tell Violet’s tale--Violet is killed by Stevie after giving birth to her twins who turn out to be Jenny & Screech who were obviously raised separately and Screech didn’t know he was robbing and killing his twin sister Jenny.

not to be one of those, but she was on the cusp of dying before she gave birth. Stevie beat her WHILE she was 9 months in, hence the whole part of if im gone save my child (Which ended up being the twins jenny and screech)

You’re one of the few reactors I’ve seen be perceptive enough to catch him fast forwarding to the present time on the guitar. FYI Ren is allegedly trying to develop a series with Netflix to explore more of his story telling prowess. 😲🤯

yeah! probably the more accurate way of putting it is that Ren is trying to develop a series to *pitch* to Netflix, otherwise people might come away thinking he's working *with* Netflix when they actually won't know that he exists yet.

Ren call this style Bardcore (like the bard Jaskier in The Witcher but in modern times) and here's the origin story of the trilogy 🤩😁🤯 This wasn't originally a trilogy story. Ren read a small article in the paper about a 14 yr old boy killing a young prostitute with a knife, in an attempted robbery. Knife crimes had been skyrocketing in London at that time. Later that same evening the boy had been shot and killed by the police . This disturbed him, so he set out to write a commentary, but not just on senseless violence, but also on how desensitized we've become to it. The words he ends both Jenny and Screech's Tales with speaks for itself. "It's such a Shame" we say these words all to often, and just move on without a second thought. The the lead inspector at the scene said " So Young, It's such a shame". Violets Tale was written over 2 years later adding yet another layer of commentary by Ren. He wanted us to consider not only generational violence but to make us look at all angles of society that we turn a blind eye to Domestic violence/child abuse & homeless youths. Both characters are born out of violence on that cruel night and then both killed with brutal violence on the same evening 14 yrs later. Also, his lyrics have even more meaning when you read in between the lines. For example he doesn't say what Jenny was doing or why she wanted to escape from this place & life, or why Screech thought she was older then himself by saying at Patrick's door "I left this lady lying on the floor". Could it be the way she's dressed & her heavy makeup? Also why is a 14yr old girl out so late at night alone in a sketchy area wearing high heels & thats "she's walked it a thousand times before" everything points to Jenny being an underage prostitute, showing us what Ren writes has reason & makes us think. There's no fat on the bone, every word is weighed & has meaning. Also, how can both these siblings be so cursed? Jenny has the same traits as her mother Violet, quiet, voiceless, and timid. Where as Screech mirrors his father Stevie in every way, Loud, obnoxious, and easily prone & provoked into violence. They didn't know one another and had never met their biological parents. What made these kids so much like their parents? Was it simply Nature, inherited traits due to their genetic make-up OR Nurture, being brought up in the broken governmental system filled with, mistreated & in many cases, abused children? He organically takes us on this journey, leaving us to think shouldn't we be doing a better job in this so called "advanced, wealthy, 1st world society. Love your channel, Cheers bro.

I don’t agree that Jenny was a hooker, I’ve done a vid explaining my point, that’s she lived in Camden Town a district of London where Amy Winehouse lived, I think Jenny was a Amy Winehouse fan so dressed like her and walked the streets of Camden looking for the many graffiti’s of Amy, there is a statue in Camden Market of Amy wearing high heels

It's hard to believe that Ren made a relatable, compelling story about intergenerational violence and abuse (and society's acceptance of it) that not only didn't seem preachy or false, but didn’t feel like 14 minutes. Very succinct and emotional. Mad talent.

This is a Shakespearean Tragedy in 3 acts...sad, but beautiful. Each of the parts was written separately (Violet's Tale came years after the first two). Each section is one continuous recording/take (no cuts). Much as with "Chalk Outlines" Ren uses the natural reverb of the building and stairwell for effect. No autotune. I really like your breakdown. you got it spot on. Your reaction, expression and energy made this an amazing watch. Two thing to add that'll bake your noodle a bit...Jenny is a 14=year old walking home late at night through rough streets. In high heels. And it's no coincidence that Patrick isn't home AND Screech's girl is "Busy". Have a good night, keep it up!

As someone who has attempted to play guitars and banjos before I can tell you that shredding an acoustic guitar is nothing like shredding an electric guitar the level of difficulty is a lot higher. Because the strings are thicker harder and tighter strung and when you're sliding your fingers up and down and acoustic guitar it's not as smooth as an electric guitar strings are they can actually cause blisters now that shredding in Violet's tale is something else

Also, for Violet to have been able to get a flat on a welfare scheme at 16, she had to have special circumstances... like she was already pregnant. By her abusive father. Adding yet another layer of horror. Which also explains why her abusive boyfriend kept calling her a liar and a slut... likely because she wouldn't tell him who the father was. Also because he was an abusive sick asshole.

People miss most of the lyrics in Jenny’s tale. A young year old girl walking the streets in high heeled shoes. The entire section where she freezes is brilliant. Every line. She wanted to escape- the she DID (in a way) escape. The description of screech’s knife. The lyrics in all 3 are amazing but for some reason peopl miss the ones in Jenny’s the most.
@itsayswithoutgoing9571

It’s missed mostly because we don’t know how old Jenny is until the last line of Violet’s Tale. By that time, there’s been so many emotions that the high heels, late night walking for a thousand times, and wanting to escape kinda get lost.
@VideosbyLisaLisa
@VideosbyLisaLisa Жыл бұрын
Ren starts dropping clues right away, but I think the audience has been subdued by the music of the introduction (the guitar & trumpet sound). He's lulled the audience into a false sense of safety. Since we all know how detailed Ren is in planning the videos (the second half to him of making the "song"), the alley of low light dark at night colored only by graffiti is mega-foreshadowing. It's often difficult to remember what you caught/didn’t catch the first time you saw it. Most (American?) reactors miss Ren saying Screech is 14 years old (twice actually) right at the start. The narrator (Ren) consistently refers to Jenny and Screech as a "girl" and a "boy." Only once does Screech say he thinks he killed a "lady," but like you said, she was in high-heeled shoes (walking the streets like a 1,000 before / dragging her feet like she's weary & been out too long). Kinda implies Jenny might have been a prostitute. If so, she was probably all done up to cover up her underage status, and could've duped Screech, who only saw her as a target flush with cash. Ren's so freaking talented & designs everything so intricately. It took me a dozen or so times listening to "Illest of Our Time" before I thought (or realized) the whole last arc is about his brain damage. It's easy to miss things. Probably why I don't like reactions to "Animal Flow" very much. Almost everyone misses a ton - understandably - because there's so much to process.

@@VideosbyLisaLisa Most Americans miss it because they are not paying attention, are high AF or are a just naturally a little slow on the uptake…though it does sound like “40 years old” to our ears at times. They are usually the same reactors who are falling all over themselves at the end about how good Ren is and what a great story it was, when it’s clear that they missed the plot twist. Wish I had a nickel for every reactor that said some version of, “oh she escaped, whew”…did they not hear the knife cutting the statue and her sleeping on the cold concrete? It’s a perfect tragic masterpiece with Easter eggs(like why Patrick wasn’t home and Screech’s girl was “busy”…and as only one person I’ve seen mention in a comment that at the beginning of Violet’s tale Ren is sitting on the hospital bed with his knees up similar to a pregnant women), and no wasted words. It’s the most brilliantly concise, visual and visceral writing and acting I’ve ever seen by an artist.

violet was the mother, she died so they were probably put into the system and into foster care or adopted out. Later screech killed jenny he probably was not aware they were related by blood. Screech took on the aspects of his father Stevie, and Jenny took on the traits of her mother, timid, quiet silent. it is a brutal story of generational violence and the hardships faced.

This also can be a talk about the theory that genetics can also determine how some people act. Violet and her daughter Jenny were both timid woman. Both ended up with abusive men. Screech had a short fuse and was abusive to women like his father. Theory being its not just environmental or taught habits it might be in one's DNA.

Hey, seemed like this song hit you heavy (which is 100% understandable for *anyone*) - hope it didn't take too much for you to recover afterwards. Such a dark story, and these kinds of violence happen way too often irl, whether we experience them or witness them ourselves or not. I've rarely seen a reactor stop the video to comment on the violence described in Violet's Tale, who uses the pause to purposefully acknowledge how horrific it is, in as few words as possible and using no dark humour to break the spell. People have to react the way they react, so it's understandable that some people choose not to stop the video at all, or stop it and comment in whatever way that sidesteps the horror of the violence. It felt really intense that you explicitly acknowledged it without any of the rest of the kinds of deflection that can sometimes come with a genuine reaction to that part of the story. idk. Feels probably not "useful" for me to point this out or something? But it struck me really forcefully so I figured I'd say *something.*

I just realized something, it would make sense that the twins were named James and Jenny. Because violet wasn't able to name them, she died giving birth. Their father was hopefully being arrested and the children were bound for an orphanage. Here in America when the victims name is unknown we use the name Jane doe and john doe. It's very likely that in the UK they use a similar system but instead of John and Jane, James and Jenny. It's sad to realize that James was a hot head with violent tendincies just like his father and unfortunately jenny was predisposed to freezing in silent fear when she's in danger. To me this story has always represented somthing that ren touches on alot. The idea that unlike Hollywood movies, in the real world their are often no happy endings. David vs Goliath or good vs evil, these clearly defined narratives are just stories. In this story their are no winners. Only losers. No hero to save the day and slay Goliath. Only villains, pain, loss and abuse. Jenny is born an orphan. She dreams of a different life and wants to escape her hell. She's killed as a teenager by her own brother. James grew up in the streets. He never knew his mother or father or any other family. One night he los his cool, murdered a young girl and was gunned down in the street by a cop. Richard the police officer was forced to discharge his weapon st a young boy. Its likely that he will never work again as a police officer and will carry the trauma of his actions with him for the rest of his life. Violet was abused by every person she had in her life. When she became pregnant she dreamed of raising her children in better circumstances. Away from the abuse. She would be beaten to death and would never see her children born. Stevie was arrested and charged with murder. He was also charged with attempted murder of his two children. He will spend the rest of his life behind bars and his children will never even know his name. The doctors who tried desperate Ly to save young violets life will forever carry the trauma of not being able to save the young mother's life. No heros. No happy ending. Only heartbreak.

Yes this is the same place Ren used for Animal Flow. This is why so many people enjoy musicals. the music and the actors create the completely immersive experience. If someone has never seen a live musical I highly recommend giving one a shot. I believe Ren based this a true story, but I am not sure how much was artistic and how much was true. We start the story at current day with Jenny and Screech. Then we learn how Violet lived, her mom was abused and an alcoholic, her dad was a POS. When she left home she found a guy just like her dad, who abused and SAd her still, she fell pregnant with twins, Jenny and James (Screech). Tragic tale of generational abuse and trauma.

And here is the part where we get to watch your brain explode😂😂😂 now there has been very few people that have caught at the end of screech his tail he says our story it ends right at the start young screech and poor Jenny lying one street part I've been watching because when I first heard the song I heard that I'm kind of in English literature person you know so when he used the word start it stuck in my mind and I did know as soon as he said the line about the doctor but I haven't gotten there and as usually I like to comment as I go it helps boost you into the algorithm😂😂
