Someone else mentioned this too… Idk if it was done intentionally by Ren or not but neat detail if it was… Screech can’t get help from the two people most important to him, his buddy Patrick and his gf because they’re hooking up behind his back. That’s why both were busy. 😯

I only twigged this metaphorical symbolism this afternoon but when violet is in hospital, she’s 9 months gone, but instead of her water’s breaking she broke her silence. Unbelievably powerful symbolism.

its 2024 and this still hie best music video. Not Hi Ren or the awarded Money Game 3. This is a masterpeice: One (real) one takes, low budget, using local lights, the grafffitis illustrating what Ren says, the Y shaped intersection where the doctors have to choose between life or death of Violet, The color scheme in lightning where Jenny's colors are bright and yellow, screetches lights are dark and red (hell), or the scene where Violet ask God for help in the staircase scene but all she sees is a vortex with a black hole and instead of getting help from God, it's the Devil that actually descend to earth to join the "party".... I think Sam does not get the credits he deserves to be able to materialize someone as talented ideas as Ren is, shows the huge talent and chemistry that these two have

Ren was a busker, and was actually discovered and signed by Sony. That is why he is so comfortable performing live. Shortly after being signed, he was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, and was immediatly dropped by Sony. It was a few years before he was actually properly diagnosed with Lyme's disease, but only after the psychotropic drugs had nearly driven him insane.

It makes it worse when you realise they're twins, not just brother and sister (as if that isn't bad enough). But it's so true when you say abused as a kid and finds it in adulthood in the form of romantic partners. Unfortunately it happens too often. It's almost like when you're broken as a child it puts a neon sign above your head a you grow up inviting those types of people in
@RandomShinyThoughts
@RandomShinyThoughts 10 ай бұрын
Because abused people typically don't know what healthy relationships are supposed to be like as they've never experienced or had them modelled for them in their childhoods and the bar for what is "better" than what they've been through is so low that behaviour most people wouldn't stand for get's a pass because "Well it's not as bad as [childhood trauma]" There's also a thing with abusive relationships where they cycle between the massive lows of the abuse and massive highs of being lovebombed to "apologise" for the abusive behaviour and being promised it won't happen again. When a person becomes used to the cycle they tend to become uncomfortable or bored in healthy relationships because they're not used to the consistency of being treated well and they're not getting the huge dumps of adrenaline/dopamine that go with those extream peaks of emotion.

I have a 7 year old kid who lives a few doors up from me. We live in a nice area. One of the houses is a council purchase so the people who tend to live there are usually pretty fuckin scummy. This kid plays with my kids. She is such a nice girl but her mum has very low IQ. To the point of retarded almost. She has all sorts of scumbags staying over and the young girl is so naive and vulnerable that I have genuine concerns for her. Like you say, people might as well have neon signs above their heads. She is ripe for exploitation. I dont know what I can do though. We let her in, feed her, let her play with our kids toys, keep her safe and secure but we can't adopt her. Its horrible. Such a sweet natured kid too.

This is my favourite by Ren, the cycle of a abuse is one of the biggest issues facing society and it becomes like a ripple effect to the point where the ripples bounce of the constraints and end up crashing into each other and causing even more chaos. One persons actions can have a knock on effect that spans generations and decades and can cause knock on trauma to those they never knew and the victims of that trauma can go down a dark path and create their own ripples. The cycle repeats, it’s no good just placing a bandaid on that one ripple, because the ripple has already created ripples of its own, you have to prevent those ripples from even happening but as long as we as a society only deal with the issues in society by placing a bandaid on everything, nothing will ever change. Prevention is better than the cure.

This guy has so much talent it's unreal. I can rap while strumming some basic simple chords (like Eminem's "Stan" for example) but what Ren's doing is on another level - many levels above in every way. I've never seen anyone play guitar that well while rapping and singing - and walking and acting - and switching up the flow and style so often - and doing it all in one take. Sheesh! He must be from another planet. He would probably make a great movie actor and screenplay writer too. As an aside, the cinematography deserves some praise too. These videos contain some of the most precise and perfected hand-held camera work I've seen in a music video - and better even than many cinematic movies.

I would highly recommend the track 'Chalk Outlines'. Its about mental health & Ren's struggle daily. Features a really talented singer Chinchilla. Really hit a chord with me, can't get enough of it and again the video is recorded live. ❤️

Chaucer in modern day London; individual tales much like Canterbury Tales that intertwine. Genius is an understatement when it comes to Ren. Screech is fourteen not forty. Ren's intellect is mesmerizing and his musicality is beyond noteworthy. Great reaction guys.🙏🏻🇺🇸🇬🇧👍🏽

Yeah the first time I heard it, I thought it was 40 as well … at least until he kept referring to him as a boy. I definitely missed the significance of the “two zero zero five” initially. What is even more tragic is we don’t realize Jenny is only 14 until after we know that they were twins 😿 So such a young girl walking the streets of London a thousand times in high heeled shoes 😕 it’s no wonder she wanted to escape

I love the fact you have a physical reaction to music. Although there is no need to wear the glasses I can understand the desire. Ren is something special. I guess it comes from all the street performing he has done. Its not just music, its theatre & describing him as a modern day bard is as close as I think we get to what he is. It could not be more different from so many current songs, written by a team of people, performed by a team of people & sung by a person that has had a team digitise & modulate their voice to fit. Its no wonder it makes no one feel anything.

I am following up on my comment to your review on Ren. As I stated I was taken when I first watched the hi Ren video. Not only is he an amazingly talented musician and story teller, the public awareness that he has brought to these type of illnesses that use to be sweeper under the rug. People were ashamed if they had a family member with this type of illness. When I listened to this trilogy (which I heard it first on your show) I realized this was not a one hit wonder. For him to be able to do this over and over at such a level of excellence. Wow what can I say to do this comment/review justice. All I can say is Thank You for turning me on to this amazing story brought to us by this amazing artist/musician who just so happens to have struggled with mental illness or a great actor who played that part. Which ever the case my be Thank You Ren for these amazing songs/stories. You have made me stop in my tracks and take notice! Thanks Cedric and Brian for these reviews which I agree with so many of your sentiments. I am enjoying watching your show as I am a new follower. I look forward to watching more. This trilogy is going to be hard to beat.

Ren is a young genius! He can do everything! Check out his rapping on Genesis - live version is my favourite (because of his improvised sounds that are sublime) but his video is just as good. His song Power shows a more fun side. And of couse you have his Money songs and Life is funny and Heretic and .....and..... and... There is tons of great stuff ...oh check out Chalklines for a duet as well and his live stuff in Brighton. It's all stunning!
