I love this video, but I love even more that the producer was Nayz, another person who ran into a "situation' with Kujo Beat. It's just such a beautiful way for Ren to lift someone up who had felt the "greed" of the music industry and had questioned if continuing to create was even worth it. The fact that he and Nayz will split 50/50 just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Like Karma stepped in to correct a mistake. (even if, in this case, karma was actually called Ren).

This song to me is Ren's way to make it even more clear that love is what is worth everything in this world and that money is just a took we can use for good or bad, its all up to us once we have it. That Ren is bitter might be true to him, I can understand if he feels bitter about all the years, oppertunities, moments lost due to his sickness. To be feeling bitter is a natural respons as long as you do not let it consume you 🤔 After seeing what bitterness has done to my mother, I made a promise to never get stuck in that feeling, no matter what life throws my way. So far I have been able to keep that promise and focus on the positive and keep moving forward. I heard him say in an interview (can't remember which one) that he isn't against the capitalist system but against how it is misused to reward the greedy instead of community and the natural world (or words to that effect). In The Hunger, consider that "anti-capitalist" rhymes with "raise my fist", so a word choice that serves the song and generally his world view.
