CALL TO ARMS - Ren’s Karma Army needs you! Have loved watching your Ren reactions ever since Hi Ren - hopefully you’re aware of the current situation between Ren and Kujo, and why Ren’s album title track Sick Boi has been removed from all streaming channels and is no more. If not Ren explains all in a video - which is really worth watching, especially as it gives context to a new track he’s dropping this Thursday (5th) He’s lost Sick Boi forever which totally fucking sucks, however the reactor community is getting behind him and I know, as a supporter Ren’s music, you’d want the heads up that he’s getting it all off his chest in a diss track and will want to be in on the action. Thanks

The first song portion was indeed about his own struggle with suicidal thoughts. It had been completed and slated for release. The spoken word at the end about his friend was added after he had an interview with Knox Hill and told the story about Joe for the first time. He felt the song was incomplete and said this portion just poured out, and he added it on at the last moment. Ren has said he's had issues with depression since he was a child and that he was bullied in his youth.

Ren had stated that he couldn't live another year sick with no answers before the incident with Joe. Afterwards, seeing the effects it had on Joe's family, he realized he could not cause his family this pain.

Next to a musician, I like hearing writers react to Ren. His lyrics go beyond "bars". They are poetic expression from his soul. Thanks for doing this!

I'm almost 50, and I have been dealing with suicidal tendencies since my teenage years. My favorite band is named Suicidal Tendencies, and I have it tattooed across my back. It has been the musicians who have talked about their experiences that have kept me from feeling so alone in this world. Ren has quickly become one of my favorite artists in the past few years.

The end is about his real friend who he lost. He missed him jumping by minutes. He talks about it in interviews, you can find them on here. It's a really sad story. He pours his heart out on everything he does but this is a hard listen when you know about the ending.

That's why I love Ren. He puts his raw emotion into his music then releases it to the world, maybe letting it go bit by bit to heal, but also for others to relate to and heal along with. Could be anger and frustration, tears or ugly crying, thoughtful or introspective, and then something completely just funny and joyful.

As a recovering addict who feels she effd her life up completely and it's too late to do anything meaningful I cry whenever I hear this song. I've lost so many friends to o,d's ingfact I recently lost my foster brother and it broke me. But I find power in Rens music. There's just something about the way he writes , so honestly and raw that kindaa reminds me of me and the way I portray my emotions to people I meet. I am very careful with my words but I'm not gonna lie and say that the S word doesn't tempt me sometimes.

10:48 I am so invested in watching you continue down the Ren rabbit hole! Your reactions are some of the best I’ve watched. I hope you find time to continue because you’ve only touched the tip of the iceberg. Poetry? Rap?, a phenomenal singer…Ren is authentic to his core. Love Music, Murderer, Seven Sins lyric version, The Hunger, Genesis… I’m sure these have been recommended but check out his full catalogue. Please. You won’t regret it for a minute. His old stuff is amazing. Loco, all 4 Love Music tracks, Uninvited, 1990s, Runaway, Wicked Ways, Freckled Angels, Dominoes… there are so many more. And good luck with school!

I recently had a very close friend commit suicide and hearing this for the first time broke my soul. I could handle the song initially because it reminded me of my own experience with suicidal thoughts but once we got to the loss section I almost fell to my knees. We were friends for around 20 years and she’ll forever be in my heart. We love you Sharray RIP.

He was doing both. The first part is to do with wider society's and Ren's suicidal thoughts/actions. The second part is addressing the suicide of his best friend, Joe. Bringing the impact of suicide right into your face, via poetic imagery and raw emotion!

Music had always been my therapy. I have bi polar, major depressive disorder, etc plus chronic health problems. Also have kids and partner with chronic health problems. Bern over medicated for over 20 years. Actually came off all prescriptions a few months ago, and am actually coming out of the fog that ive been in for years. What was good for me 20 years ago (and it was needed) may not be good for me now. All the meds were and are affecting my physical health, badly. Finally getting my crap together so that i can hopefully be around to help my kids and husband deal with theirs for a bit longer (hopefully more than a bit but, I'll feel blessed with just a bit more time. I mean how can you get better, if yoy j6st always wearing band aids?? You've got to pull those band aids off so that you can heal. If i cant learn to deal wiith my diseases, ill never get better. Sorry for going all over the place. Awessome reaction! can geal

pig mask. I remember reading somewhere that he had found it when shooting a video. I am not sure if he truly had a meaning behind it In the beginning. as more people asked he didn't give an answer u think he liked that people could give it their own meaning. but it cought the collective curiosity, and it became a stellar marketing symbol.

I think of the Pig Man as the devil on your shoulder. The "friend" that's not really a friend, but always there when it's time to be self-destructive. But the Pig Man isn't only there for me or you, but society as well. "I miss missing that, I numbed myself to close the gap / I never even call them up, the distance is my plaster cast." A plaster cast, not a Band-Aid, but something more durable, something that can hold together broken things. Ugh! ❤️

Ren says he doesn't like to interpret his work for others, but I heard him say in an interview somewhere (sorry, I've watched so many, I can't remember which one) that the pig image is a symbol of his illness and everything associated with it including his treatment. Interestingly, he said that its significance to him is emotionally ambiguous. He has lived with it for so long that it has become familiar; 'at times' it can sometimes feel almost comforting like a friend, a positive presence. Presumably, at other times, it is anything but.
