Ren The King || hermitcraft animatic ||

This took me one and a half month and ive learned my hard lesson to never make an animatic without a plan or a storyboard ever again, this was a bit painful
Also my pen broke midway :Dd
im very proud of the result but i kinda wish i did more frames? in some places it looks too still

Hi hello I am so hecking obsessed with this animatic??? The EXPRESSIONS, the TRANSITIONS, the LORE, this took me out back and shot me oh my goshhhhhh I haven't even seen much of the RenTheKing stuff beyond watching Grian's POV once and this has single-handedly convinced me to watch more of this era because I! OUGHFHHJ THIS IS AMAZING (long comment!!) "like i'm watching a sequel i've already seen" and it switching from hc 9 to third life Ren had me going insane "what shall we fight about this time" with Grian and his resistance asistance in the background makes so much sense the shot of Doc with the perimeter flag behind him is probably my favourite frame in the video another great parallel this time with Bdubs, essentially repeating history by anointing Ren king just as he'd made Scar mayor in the past the shadowy spectres behind King Ren at around 1:46 being very subtle at first, but then becoming more apparent and menacing is a great portrayal of Ren slowly losing the soundness of his mind (at least, that's how i interpreted it) Bdubs, his royal advisor, whispering in his ear at 2:01 "never should have trusted anyone" and the switch to a red palette for the battle scene at the end is just *chef's kiss* TL;DR, I love everything about this video. You managed to capture and portray the King Ren arc in its entirety in just under three minutes WITH a banger of a song that feels like it was made for this exact scenario. Phenomenal work, I hope that some day I'll be as good as you at creating animatics :D

This is INSANE- I can’t even count the number of times I’ve watched this. The illustrations are beautiful and the timing, the song choice, everything is perfect. The frame of Doc, the ones of Bdubs in front of the c(r)astle, the parallel between Scar and Ren with Bdubs, and the Impulse axe swing are some of the ones that stand out most to me! Absolutely amazing. I think Ren would love this because he always talks about wanting to tell a story through his character, and this validates that in the most beautiful way. You are so talented! ❤
