The more you fall in this deeep rabbithole you will eventually find that Miyako (the darkhaired guitarist ) is the musical genius of the band, she is not only a worldclass guitarplayer, but also a worldclass classical piano player and a songwriter extra ordinary. Good reaction by the way... With love from Sweden..

It's Miyako magic, some have referred to it as a "Jedi mind trick". She has a special connection to music both in classic and metal. She speaks that "language" on a level, that people like me can't grasp (well, it's enough for being impressed)... Look at her solo EP: Those are not just piano covers, she wrote classic songs, that matched not just the base or singalong line, but also the entirety of these instruments. That's master class!

Finally a good reaction. The only one in several days full of reactions to the band of dubious quality. Despite some small technical problem, good reaction. And when someone knows a bit of music, it is noticed and appreciated. If you want something slower and more melodic, you have 3 "classic" Lovebites options: "Egde of the World", "Frozen Serenade" or "Epilogue". All are live performances of excellent quality.

Frozen Serenade is my favorite power ballad of theirs but they have other good ones: Edge of the World, Empty Daydream, and Epilogue are 3 of the fan favorites, I think they refer to those as the E trilogy.

yes, they are that good. founded 2016. singer asami came from R&B, knew nothing about metal, guitarist miyako (dark hair) also can play classical piano on pro level and composes most of their songs. 2018 they had already published two albums and two EPs. in the same year they won metal hammers golden gods award for best newcomer band. when they really were ready to start through early 2020, corona came. bassplayer miho left in august 2021 on friendly terms. the band is in hiatus since then and searching for a new bassplayer, who will be presented this september. their backcatalogue is about 50 songs and there´s not a single bad or mediocre one in it. thank you for your fine reaction.

Thanks for the reaction! 👍👏 😊LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians, such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list). LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass, backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in both Donington (UK) and Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts. LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good! 🐺Miho - bass, backing vocals (in August 2021 she left the band). 🐺Haruna - drums. 🐺Midori - guitars, backing vocals. 🐺Miyako (Mi-Ya)- guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals. 🐺Asami - lead vocals, piano. 🐺Miho started playing bass in high school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES. 🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan. 🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar. Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA. 🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music. * In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊 🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs. All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. Many people, having seen them on stage, say that in white dresses they look like Greek Goddesses playing metal ! The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺.

Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU and “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXnRfHp7n5Z2g8U, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc. Miyako is also a professional-level concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”(official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWGVYpSGZ8aibLs includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKPQoJ-kaqyrq9U This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Congratulations on finding Lovebites! Actually they started in 2016 under the name "Powerslaves" written with the same type of letters Iron Maiden uses so yes, the are very open with IM as an influence. As you mentioned Babymetal it might be of interest that the blonde guitarist, Midori, was a student of Mikio fuijoka who until his unfortunate accident was playing guitar for Babymetal and she is also friends with Babymetals basist Boh.

just about every reactor out there turns into owen wilson - i was going to say on first listen but you will say WOW with every song by LOVEBITES that you hear. best collection of talent i've heard in at least 30 years. virtuosos in every dept. while BAND MAID may have the hard rock end of things cornered LOVEBITES not only can kill that but they really specialize in power , speed and thrash with quite a few progressive songs thrown in along with hard rock just to show their versatility. your favorite guitarist on the left is midori tatematsu. my favorite also along with most of male population. she is badass and beautiful with amazing stage presence. and she owns that guitar like she was born with it. and she can play spanish style acoustic that brings tears to my eyes. you will want to check out everything they have but i would recommend 'frozen serenade' for a more progressive sound to see midori play that acoustic. and asami the lead vocalist shows off her ballet skills along with right guitarist miyako going to the piano - her first instrument that she has completely mastered :kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄 ps. Dream Theater performed as a headliner in Download Japan 2022 on Aug.14 at a huge event hall near Tokyo.

Nice to see an informed and articulate reaction to one of my favourite bands - subscribed. Don't worry about the minor technical glitch. btw, the most frequently used word on first reactions to Lovebites is inevitably "wow", so you're in good company. 😁 The quiet and reserved guitarist, Miyako, is a musical prodigy, as you will find out if you delve deeper. She is a classical concert level pianist as well as self taught guitarist, watch her Chopin piano intro to Swansong to see the range of her talents. Also A Frozen Serenade, which is a masterpiece of composition, and for something different, Dancing with the Devil, which showcases Asami's R&B origins, and shows they can mix genres. Have fun!

Lovebites are amazing, all uber talented. Miyako, the one on the right, is a dual threat at guitar and piano (Swan Song is a good piano listen). Like Slayer? Break the Wall live at Zepp DiverCity. Edge of the World is another song that is much slower to start. For the most part Lovebites moves fast.

My favourite slow song from them is "Edge of the World" just an epic prog/rock/metal ballad, so I'd recommend it as the next one to react. The contrast on stage between two shredding godesses, where Midori on the left is the hot one, while Miyako is the cool one, is the most fun aspect of their stage presence. Miyako, the cool one, is the mind that writes most of their music and she also plays the piano you can see on stage.

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites; they deserve more recognition. These women are extremely talented, skillful, versatile and proficient musicians. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. They really shine in their live performances. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Slayer, Dragonforce, Deep Purple, Helloween, Angra, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. For slower tempo, I suggest “Epilogue”, “Edge of the world”, “A Frozen Serenade” (all live).

The leader of the band and the bassist Miho was an avid fan of Iron Maiden and she was responsible for the type of music they would play . Sadly she left the band last August and the band has been in hiatus ever since. But there were bassist auditions and soon Lovebites will be out with a BANG ! .......waiting for it too happen soon. These goddesses are brilliant and unbelievable as musicians and each of them has an aura of their own. Some suggestions for your next reaction....Break the Wall, Hammer of Wrath, Set the World on Fire for some thrashy songs. Epilogue for a metal ballad . The bassist Miho and drummer Haruna were previously in a fantasy metal band called Destrose, whose other former members formed a half dozen other bands such as Fate Gear, Mary's Blood, Nemophilia, Disqualia. They intentionally wanted to play Iron Maiden style songs and the toured with DragonForce.

I think you might like this song by LOVEBITES called Epilogue kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHqke4x4qtp-fa8 it’s definitely a slower but really emotional song written by Asami both the music and lyrics I’ve seen reactors cry to this song

Definitely Edge of the World live or A Frozen serenade live next if you want slower. One distinction between LB and B-M...metal vs hard rock. You'll see if you explore their heavy stuff. Best metal band in the biz right now, imho. Talented beyond belief. Pausing / analyzing is what reactions are all about...no worries and good react! 🐺🦊

Lovebites , Band-Maid and Babymetal is one of the best things that has happened. They opened up a flood of amazing Japanese hardrock/metal/punk bands. Oh, You want progressive. Try out the Japanese instrumental band Asterism. Their first MV Rising Moon is a good start. Church (studio live) or Dawn (live fancam ) is a gem. I can't categorize Unlucky Morpheus but that is a band to discover. Cadaver / Revadac is a gem, they play the song backwords when the song finish and You can follow the tabs like "subtitles". Ningen Isu is sort of Japans answer of Black Sabbath. Check out their song Heartless Scat. That song is a gem for sure!

Miho the bassist of lovebites is the founder and leader of the band and she is a huge iron maiden fan and she molded them kinda after them in case you didntand by the way they are not rock they are not rock they are power/heavy metal you should listen to rising, raise some hell, thunder vengeance, epilogue, swan song with chopin intro, empty daydreams, set the world on fire, edge of the world and glory of the world, and shadowmaker please let me know what you think

You are absolutely right. Many say the singer Asami as female Bruce Dickinson, and they even wrote an homage to Aces High titled The Crusade kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpjYlqqGmdOlgbM. As you mentioned they got influences from all the great metal bands from 80s and 90s, of course Judas Priest too, they cover Painkiller kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6etiaCFi9h5l6M. If you like more melodic and slower piece, I would suggest a most beautiful progressive A Frozen Serenade kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo. if you like their soulful side, Asami is an ex-R&B/jazz singer BTW, a slow ballad with great bluesy guitar solos, Epilogue kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHqke4x4qtp-fa8. If you like classic music, a phenomenal jaw dropping performance, their masterpiece Revolutionary Etude + Swan Song kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y. Enjoy!!

Melodic stuff... Yeah for slower songs I would recommend A Frozen Serenade, Epilogue or Edge of the World. Though I don't think you can really speak of slow with this ladies, they are going to end kicking your ass either way. Holy War is really good Power Metal but this ladies also do incredible Thrash. I'd recommend you to check Set the World on Fire or Break the Wall for that. On how blocks work with Lovebites, they allow reactions to both their 2020 and 2021 concerts and most of their MVs (I think only Golden Destination MV gets blocked). The 2019 show gets partially blocked, only in Japan. If you go by the three ballads I mentioned, Epilogue was only performed in the 2019 show so it will have a block problem. For the other two, we have a good version of Edge of the World in 2020 and A Frozen Serenade in 2021, so they are safe. In 1982 I was introduced to Iron Maiden. Fan ever since. Like "die hard" fan. They were my mentors for almost 15 years. Big big influences. Loved the vibes of the 80's metal. Then I became jaded for a long , long, long, long period of time. After the grunge kinda died, I felt like an orphan of music. Until 2015. When I was introduced to Lovebites. Same feeling. Absolute rabbit hole, my friend, you're in for a incredible rock n roll vibes. I am now 56. They truly brought me back to life in my "groupie" years. Peace out!

LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? Your first feeling of Bruce Dickinson and Iron Maiden was correct. The band founder bassist Miho was heavily influenced by BHM and she is a big Maiden and Steve Harris fan. When the band members were searching for a lead singer they had a pretty good picture in mind what kind of vocal they were looking for. That's why they persuade Asami, who at that time had no heavy metal background, to join the band.
