Today we visit a different part of New York City: Lower Manhattan. We start at Battery Park, where you can get a boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, see the Financial District with Wall Street, the Federal Hall, the Charging Bull and Fearless Girl statues, as well as enjoy the Lower East Side coast. We even had lunch with an amazing view at The Greens on Pier 17. The Financial District is also a short walk from the 9-11 Memorial and One World Trade Center, also known as Freedom Tower. Nice walking tour with free attractions and things to do in NYC.

When I first moved to New York, I had a little studio apartment on Greenwich Street, 5 steps away from the entrance of Rector Street Station. It was a great place to live and I've always regretted moving away from that apartment. Lower Manhattan contains so many memories for me. Thank you for showing a part of it to me today, Renata. We did a similar trip. From midtown, we took the subway to Wall Street, saw Federal Building, NY Stock Exchange, Amazing architecture. Then short walk to charging bull and another to 911 memorial and One World. Impressive. Subway to South Ferry. Snack attack at Battery Park before Statue Cruise (much better than free Staten Island Ferry). Take lots of water if you are as insane as we are to do this in July. Despite the heat, this was one of the best days of our trip.

I love your videos with great details on how to go places. We plan to visit from July 6-8 and stay in Queens very close to JFK which take like 1 hour by metro to get to Manhattan. We plan to take metro and Airtrain. On July 7, we will take train to Boston. Our first visit to NYC and Boston. Right now air fares are pretty expensive.

I would suggest sometime in the morning when the sunshine is shining from the same angle as the boat. Midday the sun is on top of the statue and later afternoon/evening it is behind. Lighting will obscure the features/face. Having said that, once you have a well lit statue from the morning, I would visit for the sun down. That would be awesome. Look on you phone for when sunset is and take the boat at that time and you should be getting amazing colors.

Thank you for your great videos, I really enjoy them too. I do have a question though. So if I take the Staten Island Ferry for free, can I get on and off the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty? That is all for free?

Hello and thank you. The Staten Island ferry does not stop at the Statue of Liberty. That is separate boat you board in Battery Park. The ferry only passes the statue and the ferry is free. You can find more information here: www.statueofliberty.org/visit/tickets/
