I have the Austral and love it. Iconic Esprit Alpine

And I have the Austral's bigger sibling, the Espace, in Esprit Alpine, with all options, and to me it's absolutely outstanding

Excellent video, great family - Finlay looks very smart with his new hairdo.

You was driving mid range spec Austral, Every top spec Iconic has a glass roof amongst other thing , yours did not. so now re value the difference again with the correct price of the model you had in the video
@bernardledwith2068Күн бұрын
Hi Brian. In your price comparison you shoukd have included the tax increase for vehicles over 40k as this is certainly quite a substantial figure and would influence my decision if all else was a close comparison. The Renault coming in under 40k would help swing it for me. Both very good family cars.

Very sensible presentation, thank goodness for a down to earth explanation without the "noise."

I appreciate that, thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for taking the time to watch it and pass on your thoughts.

Fabulous video, just a few inaccuracies. You weren’t driving the top spec Austral Iconic Esprit Alpine, as that has panoramic roof and improved sound system as standard, you were driving the mid spec Techno Esprit Alpine. Also, the newer Austral that you test drove now comes with larger 2kw battery.

Thank you for another great review I have been waiting for the review of the Tucson as it one on my list to replace my current car. Nice to have the family view of the cars as some times we forget we men are not the only ones who use them. Have not looked at the Renault but I do not think I could live with the dash, it looks like it has been made up of different parts from different cars and just looks odd. Look forward to the next review.👍

Looking forward to this as I have just ordered the Tuscan N line s plug in today, but I'm relying on public charging for it

Great video. However, as it's already been pointed out, the Austral was the mid spec version and not the top of the range.

The Hyundai Tucson you have just test driven V and have you driven the Nissan Qashqai e-power Tekna plus or witch one would you prefer in the two cars ie Hyundai or Nissan please as I’m in to mind to go for the Hyundai but have had Nissan before but not Hyundai ok, Ray
@houseofcars197315 күн бұрын
I haven’t driven the Nissan so can’t really say one way or the other. I will say that the Tuscon is a great car, with a good warranty package, great technology and I believe Hyundai is probably the company to beat when it comes to to any form of electrification in the automotive industry (EV or Hybrid). It’s a very compelling package overall.

@ thanks very much for your response, much appreciated, I liked the Hyundai better than the Renault when you were test driving them both ok, Ray

I have this updated Tucson in Shadow Grey ‘N Line S’ trim. It’s amazing how different the car looks without the N Line kit. I’d even go so far as to say I don’t like the look of the car in its standard look….that hideous colour didn’t help either.
@hanshandel20617 күн бұрын
I agree with you absolutely, this Tucson is not beautiful and this color is horrible, by the way, I also have the same color as you. line in shadow gray, dream car. greetings from Germany

Why is this lady driver seat set so far back in the Tucson? I am a large guy, 1.86m tall and don't set my driver seat that back. Surely if the driver's seat is properly adjusted, you will have more than enough room behind it.
@houseofcars1973Ай бұрын
That’s her driving position. She does have very long legs and her seat is positioned that way to accommodate. We are all different shapes and sizes, with length in different places. I had a couple of friends of similar height, but one was long in the body, the other had longer legs and their driving positions were completely different.
@GPigTV28 күн бұрын
Comparitive wise it’s still accurate reflection between cars, but must admit I’m 6ft 1’ with long legs and I leave much more room behind me in my Austral. I’ve jumped in behind and my knees are no where near the back of the seat and I’ve plenty of room underneath. Having said that, the 550l boot space is based on rear seats moved as far forward as possible and then I’m feeling cramped. However I’ve never had the need to move the rear seats forward yet and so family are very happy with lots of space sat in the rear.

Hi Brian, Surprised you didn’t really comment on the Austral’s drivetrain / gearbox - Drove one last week for half a day and decided the engine and ‘box were having a major tiff - slow witted, holding gear for too long, “random” up and down shifts …. Just horrible. Don’t know how many ratios the ‘box has but felt like no more than 3, yikes.
@sebastianstoica578Ай бұрын
Well the gears in Renault's hybrids don't work as they do in traditional automatic cars.
@GPigTV28 күн бұрын
I own an Austral and not found this at all with the gearbox. Shifts can be on the harsher side if pushed hard but that’s because it has clutchless F1 style gearbox. When driving normally I rarely feel the gear changes.
