Almost Stock Renault Clio 2 RS 2.0 16v Ph.Quick (Clio Sport 172) acceleration from stand still to 100 kmh, 150 kph and 200 km/h.
Specs:
-124 kW (169bhp)
-1039/1170 kg (basic/ff)
- 0-100kph 7,2 sec
- 220 kph
Modifications:
-Ported & polished head and inlet manifold.
-SuperSprint muffler (but this doesn't mean anything for performance)
-Everything else is stock - gearbox,cams,ecu,intake,exhaust, apart from muffler,but still car runs with catalytic converter!
Temperature outside was 24°C
Altitude 50m
and Baro - 1010 hPa
There were 3 runs,but I only showed 2 in this video, 'cause 3rd one was slowest due to miss-shitting anyway.
I was bit surprised that 172 RS with ONLY stage 1/2 head is faster than any other stock 182/197/200 and MAYBE 200EDC arround.

This Video is shot in 24 frames per second. The time shown in the Video is counting seconds and single frames, thus the time is almost 7 seconds flat (6 seconds and 24 frames). If you count in the offset of the speedometer plus the inaccurate reading of every individual observer, you should land around 7,5 seconds 0-100, which is still very fast for the little Clio. The same goes for the other times. People confuse that very often.

Some Clio RS have more HP than what is announced by Renault. My 172 had 179hp before reprogramming, and 191 after reprogramming.

You measured it with a speedometer but remember that it has a measurement error and, as far as i know, in a few Renault cars i had this error was quite big. So i expect that 100 kmph in real means 105-110 on a speedo which makes time from 0 to 100 closer to 7 seconds.

Yes you are correct, it's closer to 110. And little bit of downhill during 3rd gear, but anyways it would match factory time of 7,3 sec to 100km/h. It's good to know that, at that time car had less than factory claimed 169bhp, it was closer to 155-160 hp.

That is definitly far from stock!!! I have a phase 1 completly original and I can tell you that 6700 rpm is the maximum, after that you get tilted! Measured time 0-100 for stock is 7 secs.

There is modification list in video description. This is speed by dashboard, so maybe it was 90 or 95 real GPS speed when it says 100 on dash. Anyway if you have phase 1 that is significantly slower than this, then you have some issue with power. This car in this video produced only around 160 bhp. EDIT: Plus I calculated seconds wrong, so 6,2 is 6,9 actually. You have this in comment bellow.

Jeez 0-100mph in 14 seconds, that's fast. Could have got slightly better off the line though, instead of popping the clutch let it out to when it's biting then at around 5-10mph literally after moving let it fully out. Manage to get my 182 to 60mph in under 6 seconds usually (as long as the roads are bone dry)

Good info. I heard that's the fastest way to accelerate, although, not so good for clutch :D under 6 sec is very very fast, especialy with JC5 gearbox ratios.

It is not 6.23 seconds to 100. It counts until. 25 so it is something like 6.93 seconds

+AdsTrapatony It is speed by dashboard, and measurment by program, not device, nor GPS, so it is "quicker" than expected. I would say 0-100 measured by G-Tech would be arround 7 sec.

Pandemonium Lig 4.5 Diff ratio you can only find among JB1, and car with nearly 200 hp will brake it easily on harsh start. More durable solution is JB3 with 4.217 ratio, but even JB3 can't hold more than 190-200 Nm of torque.

Yea, even at 270k it was perfectly fine, but then engine mount bolt just snapped, so we had to replace block. Engine internals were still perfect and compression ratio was amazing too.

Moin. also von 0 auf 100 KMH in 6,23 Sekunden ist totaler Schwachsinn.. dein Tacho geht allein 4 KMH vor, ich hatte in meinem Leben 3 Renault Clio RS von 169 PS bis hin zu dem 2010er Model mit 201 Ps und weis wovon ich schreibe. Habe das ganze gerade mal nach gemessen und komme laut meiner Messung deiner Tachoanzeige auf ein Ergebnis von 7,20 Sekunden, dass kommt schon eher sehr gut hin, da mein eigener Renault Clio Sport 182 Trophy, Jahrgang 2005 mit Software nun auf 194 Ps und 210 NM laut Messwerten getrimmt kommt und ein Ergebnis von 6,6 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 Kmh erreicht.

+Alan Lechat now it has 260 000+ km and it's still going same as before. On that video car had around 160bhp, which is only 9bhp down from factory figures.

***** Patric, I can't tell you how good this car is but 172 PH1 only, PH2 have problems with electronic throttle. Engine is indestructible, suspension is ok, brakes are very good, consumption is less than Saxo 1.1i 5.5-6.5 liters open road, only thing u need to take care of is Variator(check condition) and check if it is original gearbox, they are not very long lasting if you are going to push it. I don't know what car can endure 40 000km of high revs and cornering, but Clio 172 did.

You are very wrong! Difference between 6,5 and 8,5 second car is wast. You don't have to trust me but there are tons of videos proving my point. Try recording your car 0-200km/h and tell me the result. Clio did it in 25 seconds, you will be no where close to that time. With 143 hp you will need between 35-45 seconds, which is almost double!

Yes its true,but this video is impossible for stock clio 172!I driving clio 2,ph 2 RS 182 and i know how fast is this car.Astra C20XE shooting him for any time!...Real time for 0-100 km/h is ~ 7,5-7,7 sec...Not 6,2 ;)

+Stanko Borisov Did you check power of your car on dyno rollers? Maybe you are lossing power! On this video Clio had arround 160hp! So less than standard! You can check other video, when Clio had 170.8hp meassured on rollers, it is much faster than here on this video!
