Jazakallah Muhammed. Yes it definitely is, I was shocked at the consumption. And the car moves really well. No lack of power at all. Overtaking those trucks is an absolute breeze. Do you do road trips with your car? If yes, what consumption do you get?

Thanks for another great detailed review. I actually went to a Midrand Renault dealership a week ago and salesman told me there is no new stock of Duster all over South Africa due to Ukraine situation and I believed him. Now, after checking your review, I looked at autotrader and there are some new dusters available in Springs dealership. It is a not too far but let us see.

It’s my pleasure. I’m glad you enjoyed it. That’s great news. Please update us here on the comments after you test drive the Duster. Hopefully you find one to test out at the Springs dealership.

Hi Mohammed i finally watched this one, i now remember why i had chosen the Mahindra xuv300. A Renault Duster is a good proposition for a family and for everything that you just explained. I liked Mahindra because the top of the range car is not over R350 000-00, and sometimes i feel bad when we get a car that is not a top of the range because you lose a lot of features that you like about cars, because even car sales people they don't advertise the entry level car to give their brand a much better chance of being sold. I love road trips i work in Pretoria but at home is in Free State Harrismith to be exact every year it is my intention to take friends along home because most people in Pretoria come from Limpopo, and Mpumalanga. So we love going into other provinces, I know Mahindra doesn't have a big boot space compared to the Duster, but i would settle for Mahindra due to price proposition and features. and if i am not mistaken this Duster looks very new, Its one of the cars that i checked when i wanted to buy a car. I like it a lot too.. Tell me about the road noise that make it into the car? long trips need a car that has good noise insulation. Last year we used my friend's Hundai Elantra there was a bit of road noise coming into the car, but we did not care it was a good trip... but i now know that i need a car that has good sound insulation road noise can be exausting.
@MotoringAndTechWorld2 жыл бұрын
Noted, that is a valid point you make about getting a top of the range car as that is where the manufacturers include all the features to make the car the most comfortable and convenient as possible. Cars are a very personal choice and it comes down to personal preference. In terms of noise insulation on the Renault Duster, it was actually good. I had small kids in the car and they managed to sleep quite nicely. If they had to wake up during the drive it was not due to external noise. I cannot recall being disturbed at all by the external noise. In that case I would say it is good. Even though the Duster is diesel the engine did not sound harsh like some other diesels on the market. The drive was still smooth and the blemishes on the road were not felt that much. Hence, the smooth and comfortable drive. Boot space and fuel efficiency are definitely great benefits in the Duster. But then again the choice comes down to what your prioritise in a car. Make a list and select the car that ticks all the boxes for you. Are you still more inclined to the Mahindra or are you going to give the Renault Duster another chance? If any of you have taken the Mahindra XUV300 on road trips exceeding 2-3 hours what fuel efficiency have you got? If you pay a higher price for a more fuel efficient car, depending on how long you intend to keep the car for, you might make up your money in the fuel savings you could potentially get. But that is another calculation for the Excel sheet and not KZbin comments. lol :)
@samueltshabalala87752 жыл бұрын
@@MotoringAndTechWorld lol you make a very good point. To be honest to you i have not taken these cars on drives, i was inclined to the Mahindra due to those facts that i had already explained. But fuel consumption i had head on the reviews some of the people that actually to Mahindra on a long trip that is quiet good. I mean it makes even more sense that it would not be too much on fuel consumption if you take into account its body size, and power figures. That ratio in Mahindra balances very well. and between Mahindra and Duster for me it came down to like to be honest the Duster offers more, but i am young i feel like the Duster is meant for family more but the Mahindra for me as a single person i thought it fits my needs. If i were to rank them on my own needs i would put Duster second for that reason, but obviously it has more offering.

Hi Jason. Thank you for picking this up. Without the EDC it is 66kW but with the EDC it is 80kW and 250Nm of torque. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to bring this to my attention. Overall, what are your thoughts on this Renault Duster?
@prathamsalvi40272 жыл бұрын
The Renault Duster here in India was once a sales chart topper due to it's butch looks, rugged feel, great road presence and that magic carpet like ride quality. Shame that Renault doesn't consider an upgrade for it in India and still sells the old outdated model.
@MotoringAndTechWorld2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a shame. Hopefully a new Duster will come to India soon. I like how you describe the ride quality as magic carpet. Maybe I should use that terminology in my videos 🤔

@@MotoringAndTechWorld Haha. Here in India, people call it that way. Cuz it goes through rough patches like a charm. The steering response is apt and even better than the other crossovers in its segment. Never owned it, but would like to have a pre-owned Duster for sure. Just curious, Does Renault offer an AWD variant of Duster in SA?
