Renault Megane 1.3 140 Tce - More Power With Less

Who said you needed a bigger engine in cars? Oh, wait... I did. Let's see if having a small engine in a car like this makes it good or bad.

the thirstiness with the capture you are talking about is in the base probably caused by the fact that the capture is heavier and less aerodynamic so that does not help as well.

I told you about 7 months ago I ordered a Clio Initiale Paris Hybrid. However there where deliveryproblems. Renault had a New Megane Hatchback with open roof with this engine, a November 2021 model on stock. With the new entertainmentsystem. Only thing lacking was the headsup display, all other options where there. It was originaly ordered and to be delivered in november 2021 for someone else, but he unfortunately died before delivery. Now it is mine. (Especially the sunroof is super). I drive it (here in The Netherlands) arond 5,6/100L. However I must say, I do almost all driving on the highway (on the righthand, no wories) and everything on the adaptive cruiscontrol set on 100 KM/H. Here in the Netherlands are those car much more expensive by the way... But I will not complain and am very happy.

@@Pit-Stop Hi, it is the 1.3 140 TCE Edition one in the Hatchback configuration. Until now it has no issues whatsoever.

@@jimbobby629 I am a moderate driver so in summer between 4.8 and 5.2 per 100. However I have to say I never go over 100. In winter between 5.5 and 6.2. If i push it these numbers are going fast out of the window.

@@Pit-Stop In the meantime I have driven 30.000 Km, (since 2 days) As I am a moderate driver, I can get 4,8 to 5.2 per 100 in summer and 5.5 to 6.2 in winter. I must say I normaly drive max 100 kph. It always is ready and have had no issues whatsoever. It is comfortable and if I want fast.

I have a 6-gear manual gearbox, and it whines like a devil at only 4 years old and 90 000km, and feels like it will fall apart anytime. But it whines from new. It is a factory defect, affecting Megane, Captur, Duster etc... The engine is good, but everything else is below average in terms of quality. Windscreen washers are like a dog urination, everything squeaks and rattles inside, suspension is like on a Flintstone's vehicle, and Renault's warranty is a major fraud.

Besides engine, which is brilliant, the quality of the car is catastfofic. I have the 1.3 tce 115hp limited, year 2020 with 4500km in total till now and have a lot of factory problems. The clutch pedal squweeks, steering wheel squweeks, the windshield washers were faulty, rattling sounds from the top of the car(bad fit and finish). This is first and last time to buy a Renault. Such a shame and waste of money. Never again a French car!

@@Pit-Stop regarding engine, i think it will be okay, because its M282 mercedes benz engine, so i hope there will be no issues. Also the performance is great (220nm @1500rpm),and fuel consumption in 100% city driving without using start/stop and eco mode is between 6.1 and 6.7 L/100km. But regarding the engine, the "french part of the car" is just unacceptable poor quality. I cannot believe that brand as Renault is allowimg this kind of "quality". Also the official dilership is not doing anything regarding the issues. They say "there is no perfect product", and if it is not broken ( i.e. Not working) than everything is fine by them and by Renault factory. They are not accepting my complaints. Such a shame, the car is more in service than on the road. Btw, nice work on the videos, and keep up the good work. Greetings from Macedonia :)
