I adjusted them manually. On the back of the caliper, there is a moving metal piece ( where the cable is connected to the caliper) and when the caliper piston is fully retracted, that metal piece hits a stopper. So just tighten handbrake nut and check the position of that metal piece, be sure it still sits on the stopper, you can tighten it until metal piece starts to move, after it starts to move, undo the handbrake nut just a little bit to hit the stopper again. And done you're good to go.

I agree that there are different solutions how to fix handbrake, this video is more about how to replace handbrake cables, I agree that for most cases it is not needed to replace the cables unles they have snapped, in my case they also werent in too bad condition..but I learnt a lot by replacing them any way :) and I must admit that in most cases if you have some problems with renault handbrake it is not always cable it self, better start by checking if your brake calipers arent worn out and stuck in half position :)

You probably had some rust issues? To be honest I replaced cables but in the end the faulty was brake support, when I replaced it both cables got even.. but any way I never had replaced mine cables so probably not bad as well, that I did it.
