I like your tree stump used as a workbench. That's a true way to work with what you have. A very tidy brake job.

Last mechanic left out the disc attachment screws.On my car.
@mateusz13995 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean about vibration in the steering wheel while braking. I drove like this for couple of years because when I gave my car to the mechanic it reappeared every time after 1000km. So I didn't want to spend so much money on new disc, pads and mechanic. But after couple of years I told myself it's enough and did it by myself. The outcome is superb. No vibration after 12000km. I think the problem was that my rear brake caliper pistons didn't work as they should. When I tried to screw in the piston it barely moved with a lot of force. So i decided to replace rear calipers and WOW what a difference in braking I started to feel my back wheels are now braking ofcourse the vibration didn't stop because front disc was the cause. They probably overheated because the back ones didn't work as they should. So then I changed the front ones and finally I have smooth braking. In my opinion you shouldn't grease the hub or if you want to use something like dry lube spray also I think you should clean the hub more thoroughly. I used this drill attachment wheel to clean it www.amazon.com/Paint-Remover-Drill-Attachment-Abrasive/dp/B071L6MTZ4. I hope your new disc won't start vibrating because of that.
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
Cool I’m glad you got your car sorted out 🙌🙌👍... The vibration that I was having was solely because the brake discs were absolutely shot, using anti seize In my opinion between the disc and hub is a good thing if not a must, I know it looks like the hub was not that brilliant after cleaning but I can guarantee it didn’t have any high spot etc ... she’s breaking good now no vibration and I hope she’s good for another 50k at least 😉😊👍👍👍

Fren kaliperi üzeri çinko nikel kaplıdır. Paslanmayı önler. Siz kaliperi tel fırça ve eğeyle temizlerseniz kaplamaya zarar verirsiniz. Sonra paslanma başlar. Fakat diğer görüntüler güzel, teşekkürler.

Hi, do you know if the Launch CRP 429C Scan tool is capable of ABS bleeding on a 2011 Renault Megane mk3, 1.5 dci? I followed the instructions on my CRP 429C but it kept saying 'vehicle not equipped' (or similar wording). The scan tool recognises the vehicle, but seems it won't recognise the ABS module...or am I doing something wrong? Many thanks, Ken.
@CarsExposed3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have the CRP429c so I’m not sure if it can do it but I have a similar tool the Thinkcar and every time I get vehicle not equipped it will be either a wrong vehicle selection on module down . I hope it helps
@kenweeks80393 жыл бұрын
@@CarsExposed Hi, thanks for very quick reply! I'll check that the correct vehicle and ABS module are selected and recognised by the scan tool. The other thought I had, was perhaps it wasn't recognising it because the ignition auto shuts off after 3 minutes? I watched your video on how to get round that, ie to keep the ignition on whilst testing with a scan tool, etc. So will need to check that, too. Many thanks again! Ken.
@CarsExposed3 жыл бұрын
@@kenweeks8039 cool yeah follow the procedure to keep the ignition on , because it has to be on to be able to communicate with the module 👍

I'll be changing my front discs and pads this weekend on my MK3 Megane. I've been putting it off and the front discs have quite a lip on them (was an advisory on my last MOT). This video will prove very helpful when I come to tackle it. Thanks a lot for making it. A quick question regarding the other two advisories on my MOT is regarding my front suspension arms, pin or bush is worn therefore I'd be looking to sort that. Is it a feasible job for the home mechanic?
@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much mate... Yeap absolutely doable not that difficult to change the suspension arm, unfortunate I haven’t filmed replacing mine but you can see the suspension arm here where I replaced the ball joint kzbin.info/www/bejne/foK2mKiAecaMY5I . And in this Skoda superb I actually replaced the arm which should be similar kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5vKf6KVdrulkMk . Just take your time and enjoy the process 👍👍👍👍

@CarsExposed5 жыл бұрын

@CarsExposed4 жыл бұрын
Craig Macdonald slightly different, instead of the 7mm Allen slider pin you have the 13mm bold instead and then you have to wind the pinyon back instead of just pushing ... I’ve got this video doing a rear electronic parking brake one which is exactly the same in the sense of removing the caliper etc what changes is how you retract the piston ...
