This week we are working on my own car a Renault Megane MK3 replacing the Heater Control Light Bulb 509t purchased at Halfords, super easy job very few tools required. You can also follow this video to remove the radio, start button,key card switch and 12v accessory port.

Just did the job, took about 20 minutes because my plastic centre console cover was very tight and I was scared to break it. I wonder how long that bulb has been out for. This video made it a breeze, thanks.

LOL... I've had the same happen with headlights. Customer came in for a blown headlight bulb... I replaced the bulb and he came back a few days later. Told me that I did something that caused the other one to go!!! I explained that when bulbs are the same age... chances are good that they blow around the same time. I always mention that to customers now. Nice easy access / design this one!

Thomas EXOVCDS some people are just crazy I hate that, easy to blame the mechanic I guess 🤬😜, good practice to change them in pairs it was actually my bad for not doing it... fantastic design I wish they were all like this one, literally took me 4 mins to get it all back together again 👍👍👍

No worries ... even easier than taking it out just push them in, if it’s to hard to go in you can give a little help pushing the releasing plastic bit 👍 good luck

I have exactly this problem with exactly this dashboard. Cheers mate. (although my problem is a loose connection rather than a faulty bulb as thumping the dash occasionally makes them come back on.)

Thanks I change mine. But if u pull bulb out from the black case. U can use universal 286 bulb 12v 1.2w. Which are cheaply available. If anyone struggle to buy someone like me.

Thanks for the video. The bulbs quoted aren't correct for the Renault Megane 3. The standard Stanley bulbs have a lock mech so the bulb can only be turned 1/4 turn. These bulbs don't have the same mechanism. Also it's easier to remove the heating vent rather than the stereo which took just a couple of seconds along with the trim above the glovebox and by the steering wheel

Hi there, just bought a 62 plate estate and will be following this video to replace a bulb. Just wondering on your estate do the likes of air vents, steering wheel stalk controls and cruise control on the steering wheel light up? All seems really dark. Much appreciated.

@@CarsExposed update: in addition to the "automatic lights" warning light, the roof lights do not come on anymore, not even putting all the original bulbs back on, I tried to change the fuse even if the original one was still good, I disconnected the battery for a whole night hoping to reset the control unit but nothing. now i wanted to get a quality led kit but i doubt there is definitely anything electronic to check before mounting them. the problem to me only on both overhead lights under the roof while the courtesy lights in the doors work. I don't know where to start help me please

Can't believe you went through all that 1st time to change 1 bulb.. rookie mistake. Always do 2 bulbs. You wouldn't change brake pads on 1 side and leave the other 🤦
