Hey guy, nice video as always but ive got some questions. You said 18x9 rims with 235/40, why so wide rims and small rubber? Any scratching on this? Is it worth to get 18“ instead of the normal 19“? Are better brakepads worth the upgrade? Started this saison with my first track experience and think the brakes on the i30n facelift are not really good so far. Love your vids 👍

Hey! Thanks so much for the support. Excellent questions. The nine inch rims came on the car, I think 8.5 inch with 235 tyres would be better. 18 inch tyres are cheaper than. 19s and the extra sidewall can help but having said that the Megane is on 19s and is super quick. the Bridgestone potenza RE71 RS tyre seems to be the go, all the fast guys are on them and they will be my next tyre. The nine inch rims might play to my advantage when I get some coil overs with some negative camber, I can then run a wider tyre and clear the guards. As for brakes, yes you will get a long pedal if you work them hard. You have to get proper Dot 4 fluid not the Hyundai service stuff. I run a slotted rotor with High Carbon content metal and Circo s88 street performance pads, I find these wear better than full race pads. You could get some braided brake lines as well. On this day I went out and did 5 hard laps and the brakes went off but turned out the tyres came up to high pressures and got hot and just cooked everything inside the wheel-brakes! I dropped the pressures and cooled car off and never had a brake issue all day. Hope this answers your questions? GA

@@GuysGarage yes! thanks, your answers are on point! I will stay with my very light (8.9kg) 19“ rims then and go for a brake upgrade first. Lines, Fluid and pads for the first time, as the car has only done ~15k KMs. The first P Zeros that came with the car doing a good job so far, but are 2/3 gone after only ~10k KMs. The Potenza Race (i think its the german spec RE71 RS semislick) is really new and there are very few tests out. Maybe i change to 18“s when the tyres are done.

Probably all up It was about 65-70 brand new Easy to spend 30 on mods if you count labour etc
