Unbelievable that somebody at Renault said "We NEED an autopark system", saw this implementation and said "Yep, that's great, let's ship it to the customer". The fact you have to do everything but turning the steering wheel yourself is ridiculous. 15:18 maybe you have to use the indicator to select which side you wanna go to?

Choose the direction? You have a pair of stalks that can be found at each side of the almost round stuff just in front of you. By activating the left one down, you choose to leave to the left side, for the other side (up), you actually are choosing to leave by the grass side. The winner thing is that you keep always the option, road, or off-road. A an happy user of this pretty good vehicle - especially bc it cost 43 K € in France, can go pretty far on motorways, and over the WLTP claimed range on country roads, sunday driving style - parking assist in it is a shame and totally useless. They should give it for free...or even give some money just to beta test it. I use to drive a 2020 52kwh Renault Zoe that has the exact same parking assist, in 2020 it was already not good... Pretty funny video for a boring stuff.

I am lucid about the superiority of chinese product (even if their car are often annoying, buggy, thursty...). Renault needs to improve again, but I love my Scenic. And even if it is not so efficient, the ride is good, it is compact, light, comfy, really spacious, turn very well, that is not so common...

The system is only using the ultrasonic sensors, not the cameras like in other cars. It’s the old fashioned system of a decade ago.

I have never used the parking assistant in my car. In my eyes it’s one of the most pointless features in a modern car. If you can’t park you shouldn’t drive, especially with sensors and 360 like this have car! 😂 Really looking forward to the test drive. It’s one of the most interesting EV on the market right now.

In my Megane it's also terribly useless. It takes so many times going forwards and backwards or whatever to park. I'm definitely not great at parking but I can't imagine myself ever using the auto park. It really must be tuned for French style parking, as show cased in The Grand Tour.

These reverse sytems, as best as they are, are used twice after delivery then never been used anymore. It's faster to park the car "manually".

Absolutely not useless especially for parallel parking. It offers you parking spots which are so tight that you wouldn't think of using them which is great if there are not many available as it's often the case in big cities. And it parks for you perfectly. Yes it goes close to the other cars which is necessary in tight parking spots, not so necessary in bigger ones, but who cares as long as it doesn't touch another car which it doesn't do. Also if the spot is big, why would you even use the system? I would only use it for super tight spots. But also for 90 degree parking, as people are often not parking straight in the parking spot but at an slight angle it makes sense to align the car with the others and not park straight if the others don't. Yes, the system doesn't seem to work if there are no cars, but if all spots are available then you should be able to park yourself. So in my opinion the system works when you need it

A bit unfair. It parallel parks correctly which is the most important. And for pulling out you need to use the blinker. 7/10 imo

The pull out needs a retest. You did not use blinker. If you can't touch which side, then try the blinkers before you give up.
