Thanks a lot for this wonderful tutorial. The most valuable thing from it is hearing your thought process out loud . For instance when you talk about which light map you want to use and why, and you said "this map is nice because it breaks up the highlights and it gives it this gallery look and the nice caustics at the bottom"... These little comments are a gold mine. BTW, would you consider doing a video on interior lighting in the future ?

can you do a ACES on redshift? thank you!
@delainykennedy81723 жыл бұрын
Redshift has ACES built in (you just need the OCIO file which is on the github). In the IPR hit the settings icon and under colour management, change the display mode from srgb to OCIO, then load the config file. BUT you shouldn't render with these profiles baked in. You should do everything in linear space then use OCIO in your compositing software of choice.

Make sure you’re on 2020.2 or above and hit the tab key in the node material editor and search “ray”. It should come up.

@@cgpov Same problem! I don't have in node editor the tab "Utl". I only have (Mat, Tex, Gen, OSL, Map, Oth, Ems, Med, c4d). I use Octane X PR13 (Monterey, R23-R25).

before attempting this tutorial, can i do this without octane?

If you know how lights and materials work in your renderer, you should be able to translate the technique and follow along.
