I really, appreciate how informative and technical your videos are! But throw a couple of easy "how to make this" videos in there every now and then for the algorithm, people should know about your channel and won't find it if it's all technical stuff for advanced users. Not that I don't like it, but I'd love to see you blow up. The quality is definitely there!

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback! I have done a few here and there they just don’t do very well unfortunately. I originally made this channel to cover topics most channels don’t cover and to address cgi from a more mid to higher level of production. If you have any ideas on what you think a new user needs that isn’t out there yet, please let me know!

Great and straight foward tutorial. only thing better to increase the specular value to at least 16 or 32 to eliminate the dark egde on glasses. Can be confusing for beginners as they may not know.

Hello. I'm new to Luxcore. I'm finding the djtutorials very helpful. I come from a background of making physical objects, and Luxcore seems to simulate them much better than other renders. I'm getting a bit stumped at one aspect that the cover image for this video demonstrates well. The prisms are dark. In the real world, I think you'd see more much more light activity inside them. Again, it's not specific to this tutorial but is something I continually hit with Luxcore. Is there another cache or something that should be enabled?

It might be that you need to increase the GI samples or light paths. Also, the amount of Light Tracing can make it dark. %100 shows only the light tracing paths so check some of those settings.

For some reason I can never get dispersion, it is either always just a little circle that is super bright or nothing appears, even in the bidirectional engine. Any idea why it is happening?

Hard to tell… it might be your light pass settings or it might be that you have changed the render settings and not the viewport? It could be a lot of things. If you get on the discord and post your project file there, someone should be able to help.

Hey, well explained video, thanks for that I came here searching how to make an effect that I saw on a picture: Irina by Akatre Studio on the website Behance (Picture of a ray of light on skin. The ray is red white and blue) By any chance, do you know how to make it, or what keyword I could search to learn it?

You can use some shapes to cast light or light primitives and control the shaping using some objects like barn doors on a lighting setup.

Thank you for video. What do you think about Pro Render? Is it better than LuxCore? I create still image for ads ant etc

I have a lot of videos on ProRender. I have used it on professional projects using more flat or simple materials or fluid sims since it seems to render a lot faster and the way it renders glass looks really great to me. There is a new drop that has a more robust interactive renderer and I’m probably going to do a video on checking that out. In general, ProRender is good for very specific thing. LuxCore is better for realism and product renders. Octane I think is the best all around and Cycles has the most versatility while being accessible and a renderer.

Good question- are you using LuxCore engine? If so, which version? You might need to get the dev build.
