It will be every man's dream to have and be loved by a woman like Suchitra. It is beaming as clear as day her love and commitment towards Shekhar and i can understand how much toll the separation would have taken on her. Shekhar is a refined and dapper intellectual, but in the corridors of emotions, he does not command my respect after viewing this interview. His career mattered to him over all humanly relations and that is petty deal as per me notwithstanding of what caliber an intellectual a person is. Suchitra showed how she would have left everything behind in case he needs him anytime. While he was discussing the if's and but's of the covenants of the contracts in doing so. Mr. Kapoor - emotions is something that binds us. You simply didn't deserve this gorgeous lady

I like the way you say "dapper intellectual". Shekar with all the intellect has clearly said he carries a lot of baggage -a complex human . He said its difficult to live with him .I saw Shekar speak for the first time and was able to comprehend his intellect closely. A CA at 22 that is very telling and the Oscars for Elizabeth. She was quite stubborn and I guess in her obsession for him she missed his tell tale signs of lack of commitment and fear of marriage. He’s clearly articulated why he feared a commitment and suggested a live in relationship , because he had a failed marriage and because of his difficult and apathetic nature- by his own admission. If someone said that to me I would thank them and move on. It takes years to figure out inherent tendencies and a persons nature. She obstinately pushed for marriage despite knowing all this. Maybe she thought she could change him or handle him? That’s always a lofty and most certainly an unachievable goal. They would have easily figured this out in live in without having to go through marriage and post all that heartache they did eventually.

What no one remarks on is how youthful Shekhar looked for his age and still does. He does not appear 76 even now. I think he is a great mind and very different. His output is not much but literally everything he works on is outstanding! Suchitra was emotionally immature and she still is. I can see that in her interviews. She is a good person but a Person can either be creative or be a person pandering to the moods of a emotional and unstable person because that is exhausting and never works anyways. Anyways people drift apart when reality sets in countless times.!

Many many years later from when this episode was shot, I read Suchitra Krishnamurthy's book (autobiography?) where she was divorced and desperate to marry again, and a little comically deranged. And I just felt how sad unequal attraction can be. Not being judgemental. It was just sad.

Frankly, this episode clears so many points about him and their relationship. He is obviously pretentious and full of himself during this episode. As a school going n growing up gal I knew both of them separately. Both of them are vv talented and heart throbs. But today only I have come across this interview and came to know about both of them as a couple. But what a mismatch. What a huge age difference. I lost the total image of him. Ma'am, I loved the moment when you asked, "Does she bully you, Shekhar?" And Suchitra giggles! I was only 17 at the time of this interview but the warmth of these interviews are everlasting.. During the interview Suchitra said, "my career is more important than his career for me!" May be that eventually made the difference in their marriage. I may be wrong. Shekhar was 56 then and now in 2018 he's about 72. Hats off to him for making such a successful career. We must not forget that he was the one who took A R Rahman to Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber and eventually the rest of the world. I'm now living in Dubai but I'm originally from Pakistan where everyone knows BOLLYWOOD only. But A R Rahman's music has been the best way for me to connect to the southern part of India. Please Ma'am, do some interviews with the Stars from Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industries also like Mohan Lal, Akkeini Naagarjuna, Jyothika, Dulquer Salmaan, Nithya Menon, Samantha, Trisha, Ramya Krishnan, Prabhas, Manju Warrior, Fahadh Faasil, Silambarasan, etc. It'll really be a treat for all of us. I wish and pray that a new TV show by you starts very soon. I've traveled all around the world and have been watching loads of TV shows but your shows stand apart! Shekhur confessed he needed solitude for his work. From 1st part of interview, it’s clear he’s self-absorbed with the type & standard of work he does & his ambitions. He was perhaps unsure about the marriage from onset. He knew the type of person he was, his baggage was heavy or he was lazy as he sounded to do the pursuing - which left Suchitra with no option than to pressurise him for marriage. The Elizabeth sequel, 2007 took its toll on the marriage ultimately as the last straw to break it.

Saw this interview after two other recent interviews of Suchitra, including one with Siddharth Kannan. Now I got the bigger picture after hearing out Shekhar, especially since this is an old interview. Suchitra definitely comes out as an immature, star-struck, love-struck young girl who wanted to get married to her hero, without thinking of consequences. Shekhar, of course, is a worldly, suave, well-read man who knew the consequences of this marriage. Both took the wrong decision, but Shekhar b😢eing more experienced, should have held back and not got carried away. Suchitra should now refrain from giving false information in her interviews. If she has taken heavy alimony, that's not right, since it was her mistake to force him into marrying her. She had her singing career, so she could have sustained herself. As she says, Shekhar is a good father, so he would have taken care of their daughter anyway.

Only temporary love.if they stay in it fir long.reason.kids.family public reactions etc.take the life if our south Indian beautifull actresses. From.Vijanthimala.Shridevi.Hemamalini.Suchithra.the list goes on.all had very difficult time at the beginning of their carrier and the Diretors or Actirs took advantage in their tender years.hope fully they will have a nice life and end of life not tragic.Women are very strong and it is God given go girls live your beatifill life as you want.❤❤❤

It was a tough interview ,Simi did a great job Plus I believe blaming anyone in these two is incorrect , I have seen in other interviews and got more clarity with this interview that Shekhar didn't want marriage ,he was ok with live in because he wanted to show her how he is before taking any steps but she went back to her home ,then when Shekhar was out for shooting she went to her house and started forcing for marriage ,where Shekhar also mentioned she threatened him for marriage and she interrupted , she is saying I wanted marriage because I felt it should have been ,but she forgot that there shouldn't be any force and thats what she faced after marriage I believe ,I feel she is immature and wanted fantasy world,she just wanted him in her life as a challenge she took it that if I love someone he should be mine ,after marriage she felt he.should always listen to her and be.with her ,where this person is artist,wants to innovate in his career ,she also says Shekhar is not allowed to be in her shows ,conscious of only him I don't understand this part ,many things I believe she went wrong and he is very silent ,but at the same time hr is clear where he says I cannot leave my contract and come back ,may be where he meant if the.wife says every now and then I am feeling lonely pls come he cannot leave that contract as it takes lot of finance plus every husband jokes of her face ,body just for fun I believe thats what he meant of how you become model I didnt find he would have been serious about it Any ways these two knows better ,jus wanted to say not every time Men are wrong and should be blame just because the women are out spoken ,Men don't do that usually
