Other people close to Stevie also told about seeing a light around him that night. Thanks to Rene for sharing his memories of Stevie. He was a special soul. Heartbreaking that he was taken so soon.

Man, it was like Stevie knew - spooky. It was my freshman year in college when SRV died. I was hanging out in my buddy's room when someone busted in and told of the crash. I remember going back to my own room, turning down the lights and putting on "Riviera Paradise, " which I used to listen to every night while I went to sleep. I lay there that night, feeling the tears well up, knowing that there would never be any more music from Stevie this side of heaven. First time I had experienced the loss of a musical hero - too many since.

I will never forget this day, as long as I live. I had just gotten to work and in the locker room getting my uniform on. Someone walked in said, "did you hear about your boy, Stevie? He died today." It seemed like the world stopped spinning. I sat there for a moment, dumbfounded. Then I smashed my locker door and just started weeping.

This interview gave me chills..it was his destiny to be here to serve his purpose and to go home.The last time I saw SRV he was on the same bill as The Jeff Beck Trio..promoting Guitar Shop..with Terry Bozzio, Tony Hymas.He opened up the show and it was awesome, Beck was on my to go list to see among the others to see.Then SRV came out and it was game on...classic show, and for the encode Santana came out and did this jam that was unwordly..as if I had an out of body experience...couldn't believe it. The show was at the Oakland coliseum. And them it was the following tour not to long after that SRV died...I heard the news while on a business trip on a bus and it was announced. He gave us his best and like bolt of lightning he was gone..all to soon.He may be gone but definitely not forgotten..May he rest in peace Stevie Ray Vaughn 🙏. 🙏 ☮ ❤

THE greatest guitar player in history, you can play fast you can do tricks you can even fool Rolling Stone magazine why you are better but SRV IS the best thats ever played ! the feeling the passion, it came from that place only Hendrix, Eddie, and Shawn Lane know about.

I have a cd set of that last show he did, and his playing was just insane. The best I've ever heard him play. He knew something was going happen, and gave it his all. Also, it's Mr. Martinez that's the one who did those incredibly choreographed guitar changeouts when SRV would blow a string, correct? It doesn't get any smoother than the routine they had worked out.

I remember hearing the news on the morning radio as I was picking a mate up on our way to work. It stopped me in my tracks. SRV was a huge influence on thousands of guitarists. I wonder if he knew that? A friend loaned me Soul to Soul and it just knocked me sideways. He rescued my enjoyment of the guitar from the theatrics and competitiveness of the nonsense, meaningless high-speed blah blah that was so prevalent at the time. Always thought I'd get to see him live but never did. Thank you and RIP Stevie.

Stevie never " played" the guitar. He was the Strat. He didn't think what to do next he just let it flow through his hands to the strings. Stevie was a conduit from the ether. A gift to us.

Im really not the spiritual type but from all the things i read about this final night, i feel like Stevie knew this was the end. In the book "Texas Flood" Stevie's aunt or mother also said his pilot seemed off which was strange. Idk i dont believe in spiritual things but i still think this was meant to be and Stevie knew.
@Say_No-2_Animal-Abuse_10 ай бұрын
I believe so too. Days before his death, he told his girlfriend, he had a feeling, that something was out to get him. The interview with Chris was deep as well. He came back from the bathroom, with his bags. Chris asked him where he's going & Stevie said he was going to Chicago to call his girlfriend...Chris said, "They have phones here." Stevie replied, "No, I've gotta go, but I want you to know, that I love you." A person that worked with his Manager Alex Hodges, said Alex saw Stevie on the chopper before it took off & said Stevie looked "shook up" 🤷🏻 Idk, but it makes sense.. Maybe Stevie had a foreboding feeling.😢

He had a dream just before he passed. That's why he hugged him that way. It was a premonition of him seeing himself at his own funeral. Stevey knew something was up. He spoke of some of it during an interview. He said that Jimmy was not likely the one that killed himself and then got really quiet. Same with other famous people that didn't want to stay within the guidelines of, were in control, not you. Even Prince said it well, do you own your master's? It's a game of chess and they'll kill you if you don't listen.

Satanic sacrifice…sick shit…Stevie was a good man of God, especially he got clean…they realized he couldn’t be controlled…just like Tom Petty, who had his house burned down in the middle of the night, barely escaping be he cost the industry a ton of $ by refusing to release his highly anticipated Damn the Torpedoes album…he wrote “I Won’t Back Down “ immediately afterwards, badass
