How did they taste?

Great video. Too many folks make videos that only show one aspect of the process. You showed it from planting right through to harvest. Excellent. Thumbs up and a sub. I'll be growing Climbing Zucchini (Tromboncino) this year.

awesome video! i just purchased some seedlings and had no idea they climb! This is such good news for me since every year i struggle with downy mildew and i am pretty sure this will avoid most of that ! also i dont have a lot of space.

I planted these for the first time this year and the vines look great and they are just now putting on some fruit finally.

Congrats, Mary! Would you remember how long ago you planted the seeds? I planted today and am hoping I still have time to harvest before the first frost in zone 7B.

Interesting squash, I'll have to make a trellis for it. Love your videos, would like the see more! I bought from Renne's Garden already, so next year I'll have this one on my list for Spring 2022. That will give me time to plan for another trellis and where to put it. Merry Christmas!

do you need to prune them? Bought seeds from you, super quality! But I think I have been removing leaves near the fruit. Any advice appreciated
@ReneesGardenSeeds Жыл бұрын
You do not need to prune unless the plant gets out of control and in your way.

I always felt sorry for the one that gets thinned. I like to start in pots, with one seed each, then they all get a chance and I get more plants.

I planted this this year. I have my first 2 squash growing. However I don't see anymore female flowers but I have lots of male flowers. The plant is hardy looking and looks so large and lush. What can I do to get more female flowers?
@ReneesGardenSeeds Жыл бұрын
Just water and fertilize as directed. The plants will know what to do. Ideally, you need to attract pollinators as well to help with the production.

Also what is the difference between this and the Trombocino squash?

Looks to be the same thing. Renee renames the varieties so they sound more poetic.

How do you avoid squash vine borer and squash bug damage?
@joshualloyd42755 ай бұрын
You can hill up compost over the base if you get one in the main stem after you cut up and remove the borer. Vigilance is key. Diatomaceous earth helps if you put it around the plants but rain washes it away. Use BT spray and also spinosad. Succession planting helps too if you get one and it does irreparable damage. I typically cut into the stem and try and get them out and spray the stem inside with BT and spinosad.

What kind of root system do these squash have? Live in north Texas and have to garden in wicking tubs. I have 5 and 25 gal. Tubs

We don't recommend planting these in containers. We have other container varieties on our website.

I heard that these are less susceptible to the vine borer that often destroys my zucchinis and other squashes. Is this true in your opinion? Do these have female and male flowers?
@ReneesGardenSeeds Жыл бұрын
If you follow the instructions on the packet, the plants will produce. Someone else asked about the male and female flowers. This is a question for our horticultural advisor. You can contact her through our website.
@joshualloyd42753 ай бұрын
They have both male and female flowers ( monoecious). They are very resistant to vine borers, especially if you plant traditional zucchini nearby since the borers will go for those readily.
