As a mechanic electrician (I'm not sure how else I would translate, what I studied, to english in a better way) I can say that disconnecting the battery from the circuits could work... if you'd make at least the battery waterproof. The circuits wouldn't be harmed by water itself if you'd give it time to dry off (unless there'd be some components from corrosive materials, but it shouldn't hurt anything commonly found on circuit borads: lead, copper, semiconductors, resistors, none of that should be damaged by water).

I don’t think he’s implying a firmware update could do such a thing; he’s just saying that, hypothetically, a mechanism (not the firmware update) to disconnect the battery if water is imminently going to come into contact with it could work

I don't like iPhone because just importing and exporting video files is a nightmare. With an android you can basically shove anything you want into the thing and it will work, and you don't need an app or anything to do that. You just plug it in. Also you can use emulators and I like to play Playstation 1 games on my phone sometimes. Yes, you can do that. I do it with GBA games and gameboy games too. Digimon World on the PS1 is great.

My first and current phone is a samsung and it has some extreme durability, I have accidentally dropped it so many times onto hard floor, and the screen was fine and I don't have a screen protector on it.
