Mr. Original There’s an even better subtle layer to that. Besides the primarily used “REDACTED” voice, there are exactly three uses of the No Man’s Sky in-game computer voice as a censor. (1) When Sean begins to have his way with the young Pyro reporter, you hear the in-game voice say “Technology installed.” (2) As the first sex scene reaches its climax, the in-game voice says “Units received.” (3) Right after the final “every [REDACTED] procedural”, the in-game voice can be heard saying “Inventory full.” 🤣

No man sky has 'Mixed' rating now only because of very negative start. Positive reviews now compensated all the negative before but it is still not enough to make overall rating positive yet UPDATE 08.09.2021: No Man Sky is no longer 'Mixed' - now it has next - 'Mostly Positive' rating :)
@VanessaMagick
@VanessaMagick 4 жыл бұрын
No, he said it jumped up to Positive and then jumped back down to Mixed - but reviews on Steam now take in recency to account. The truth is that it got bombed with a ton of positive reviews just because they went out of their way to make a ton of excellent improvements to the game without charging a single extra dime. But after that little honeymoon of "THE GAME IS SAVED!!", a lot of people started picking it up for the first time and reviewing it as a complete product. And it truly is... mixed. A lot of people like it, a lot of people still think the main issues of the original launch - lack of content and pointless grinding with no real end - are still present. It's upgraded from universally panned to decisive. The VR kinda sucked too, which means unfortunately the entire game was getting bombed with some negative reviews just for that one issue.
@xsteelll
@xsteelll 4 жыл бұрын
@@VanessaMagick In the steam you can see how game was reviewed starting from August 1 2016 and starting with December 2016 number of positive reviews each month was higher than negative. So currently in total there are 84122 (59.37%) positive and 57561 (40.63%) negative reviews. According to Steam rating system it is still 11% below first positive rating (70%): 95 - 100 | positive | overwhelming 85 - 100 | positive | very 80 - 100 | positive 70 - 79 | positive | mostly 40 - 69 | mixed 20 - 39 | negative | mostly 0 - 19 | negative 0 - 19 | negative | very 0 - 19 | negative | overwhelming If Hello games will continue good work they should reach that mark eventually.

The reason it's at "mixed" is because the VR mode was really buggy when it first released and people got mad while forgetting the fact that pretty much every other company that did a VR mode made it a separate game at full price and this is a relatively small company, and then they added a synthesizer (beat maker not science machine) as a micro update and a bunch of idiots were like "why are you wasting your time doing this?"

The real reasons it's on mixed is because of it's launch. it never moved out of mixed. Recent reviews is, and have been for quite some time now, been at around very positive, except for the VR month, which was a good while ago now. but it wasn't that many reviews, with somewhere around 2100 negative and 3200 positive, but before and after it's been in the higher end of the scale for a long time now. But the first 4 months of it's life it had an incredible amount of negative reviews.

@@gustavosilveira691 Lol no, big companies should absolutely be held responsible for not fixing a f'd up game they made. You can't make the argument "uuh, they have big team, therefor need to make new game to draw in money", usually big companies have multiple projects, they can easily continue working on lesser products to polish them without losing money. Big companies are just money-hungry morons, making flashy trailers to garbage games, ruining franchises for a quick buck. They'd make tons more money if they actually put in effort.

I really appreciate how any times you guys paused it and added context or your own thoughts on parts of the video. I liked hearing Hello Games side of the story. Never played No Man's Sky, had zero investment in this situation, but I saw lots of the hype and lots of the backlash so the first half of the video was familiar but the second half was completely new to me. And to compare the way Hello Games handled the disaster to the way Bethesda did is just unreal.

Glad I learned years ago to avoid hype trains (Fable 2 being the game that taught me this). Honestly, watching the first half, I do feel a bit bad for the team. Mistakes were made and they ended up going through a whole lot of hell they couldn't get out from under. And they really seemed to pick up the pieces as the end. I'm just glad no deaths came from all the negativity and beating.

Criticism is not toxic, but sending death, bomb and or rape threats to developers, their private offices/home addresses and or even their families as well as against people for just mentioning a video game release date will be delayed as shown in the video is highly toxic and yes that was the GAMING community who did that.

That was the initial problem with the game in a nutshell. The release date overrode the product itself, so it was shipped out unfinished. What the game eventually _became_ is fine, but it shouldn't have been released at half-mast to begin with. Yes, you need to meet a deadline. But if the deadline makes your product worse as a result, then fuck the deadline and continue developing until your product is _ready._ It's not fucking rocket science. If you make an announcement to your fans that your game isn't finished, but is still coming out, then actually release footage of additional developments currently underway (if those developments are real, of course), then 9 times out of 10 your fans will understand. They'd rather have a completed product than an unfinished, unpolished mess. I'm looking at you, Bathesda. But really, it's the comeback story that I'm here for. Hello Games fucked up and couldn't deliver... but then they kept trying. They didn't stop with a broken, unfinished mess. I'm disappointed in them for releasing it the way it originally was, but I'm also proud of them for owning up to their shit and continuing to work on the game in order to make something better.

After watching the video when it came out I went back to No Man's Sky I got it on sale a while ago but couldn't get into mainly cause I had a bunch of other games to play like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Stardew Valley (almost 200 hours on PlayStation and I just got it on pc as well help me I'm obsessed!) but I decided to give it another chance after hearing about how much work the devs put in to make it better and... I'm enjoying it. It's not perfect but it's a fun game to play while listening to a livestream and just exploring and I think you guys would enjoy it especially Co op. Although I'll warn you the first hour or so can drag as you learn things and get your ship and equipment squired away but after you get into space with a hyper drive it's a blast. As for update size of my digital copy on my ps4 is about 17 GB fully updated so should be fine.

@@demon2441 Like the video said, they are a *new* studio that is undercrewed for the hype the game got combined with disaster after disaster coming to them (flooding, lawsuits, etc.). Not saying they're totally blameless. It's just that most studios wouldn't have the same excuse. Even if they did, it's a terrible thing to do since most investors are more interested in the immediate return for their money a few days after launch, not months or years. Money-hungry companies wouldn't do what Sean did here.

Big issue I always had is that those interview people keeps asking for features and it clearly indicates 'we want this!' and it's extremely hard to say no when you WANT to ensure people will enjoy your game. Rather than ask - what is the gameplay like? What are the top features in your mind within the game? etc. And the fact people never understood that Hello Games were a tiny indie studio. Issue was of course also some missteps on Sean's end but still, we are talking years-prior interviews and mentionings.

Well CDPR has unfortunately put out an unfinished game now. They can redeem themselves, but they will have to do exactly what Hello Games did. Fix the bugs and add the content, that they cut out, but was promised. Only then will I forgive. Only then will they earn my trust back. No one is too high to fall and no one is too low to rise if they want to (this here is some hardcore generalizing by me, because there are exceptions to this rule, for example some do not get a second chance because of factors that they don't control, but you get the point)! No wait, the point must be, that we should not judge too quickly and instead see all the sides of the story.
