Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing are caused by dynamax energy generated by eternatus. The wishing stars are the crystalized form of that energy used to draw dynamax pokemon to the dens.

KSOMIAK Dynamax pokemon are just pokemon in giant form with stronger moves and more HP. Gigantimax pokemon change form as well as become giant, and they have their own signature moves too (as well as stronger moves and more HP). Only some Pokémon have can have Gigantimax forms, but all Pokémon can Dynamax.

I feel like Chad has just glossed over a few of the series's game mechanics. Pokémon Contests or "beauty pageants" hasn't been around since gen 4, because people didn't like them as much as Game Freak hoped. And the plotline for Ranger 2 has absolutely nothing in common with Sw/Sh. Only thing he's connecting them with is stones, and that's not even the plotline for Sw/Sh. Since Gen 6 stones/crystals have been a part of the game mechanics, not plot.

Just wanna say this as someone that has played Pokémon Shield and Pokémon Rangers: Shadows of Almia. The stories are not completely similar. “completely” being the key word here. There was no big stone for an evil team to steal in SwSh. You’re probably thinking of like the little stones turned wristband that help our character Dynamax Pokémon. And probably the Dynamax crystals that basically increase the health of a dynamaxed Pokémon. It’s Dynamax Energy that makes them big and it comes from a cosmic entity the evil team already have in their possession from the start. The recycled stuff is just the usual story of, bad guy wants to awaken big monster for a certain purpose. Oh yeah, and the evil team. But I see those as mostly just staples really. Did like hearing your guys’ thoughts though.

Ehhhh no, it's not really the same thing as in SwSh. The shadow crystal things are used to control Pokemon against their will, while in SwSh they take Wishing Stars and attach them to Dynamax Bands, which can make Pokemon that you already own become humongous for a couple of turns (though only in certain Dynamax areas). Pretty different

Gen 1, Magnet 3 magnets Sludge Pokeball Upside-down pokeball ECT. Not every gen Pokemon have a complete creative list. I'm fine with the designs, I learn to like em. If you dislike a lot of new designs just remember they had some pretty dumb ones from the very beginning. Also you guys don't know nothing about each games mechanics/plots, after hearing that I am convinced you only hear about the bad stuff and don't really play the games at all. Plus changing the combat to a jrpg or whatever the fuck you guys wanted would be complete garbage and wouldn't be Pokemon at all, the side games are fine but not the main games.

Personally, Pokemon's never really been about the gameplay for me. The main draw has always been the catching and raising of the Pokemon, collecting all the ones that I find aesthetically pleasing (which is most of them, like probably about 90% of Pokemon), as well as the story. Could the combat be a bit more challenging? Yes. In fact late game Pokemon Sword actually did end up being quite challenging for me when things took a sharp level jump. Do I think it's for everyone or blame anyone for wanting more from the series? Not at all. I have my own gripes with the franchise. I'm just generally very easy to please. I will say that I'm glad I got Sword as a gift though, because god damn was that game not long enough for the price. The wild area was cool, but not that cool.

When it comes to Pokemon, the main point of the battling is competitive. Player Vs. Player. There's a lot of variables, and it is quite deep when you get into it, the problem being that a casual player who only really plays through the main story won't ever experience any of that. The only really worthwhile strategy becomes to attack with the strongest move. You literally NEVER have to use stat buffing or decreasing moves, where in competitive battles, that is like bread and butter.

It’s not Mega Evolution, it’s called Dynamax and Gigantamax, you can use the Dynamax Band which has a wishing star in it. But this can only be used in certain areas that have a Power Spot.

To be fair, the Gigantamax pokemon plot-line doesn't come into play until the Post-game of Sword and Shield, so it's not like they _completely_ copied the plot-line

Except there's no similarities between the games stories aside from the staples of there's an evil team who's boss wants to awaken something for a certain purpose. That's literally in almost every Pokemon game. And there was no stone to steal in Sword and Shield. Eternatus was the cause of the Dynamaxing, and he was already in the possession of the evil team from the start. What the guy was probably thinking of was the Wishing stones turned Dynamax Band that helped us Dynamax our Pokemon. Or maybe the Dynamax Candy that only helped increase the health of Dynamax Pokemon. SwSh did not copy anything from Shadows of Almia.
