I think CinemaWins had it right, when explaining Batman’s relationship with the GPD; they could easily figure out who Batman is, if they really wanted to. But he makes life so much easier for them, and they have so much respect for him, they don’t want to know who Batman is.

I consider X-men the last stand to be one of my guilty pleasure movies. I understand that there are some flaws/plot holes in it, but there are still some good moments that make me want to watch it again from time to time. Also watching it sometimes gives me a reason to play the old 'If I wrote the script or story for this movie, how could I change or improve it?' game to exercise my storytelling writing skills.
@averagegamecritic5 жыл бұрын
I dunno, the change only works for minor powers. Like floating pencils vs ripping planets in half. Seriously, either government or remove the world breakers. The analogy falls apart with powerful people. Then there’s reason to fear and control, same as the comics. Maybe growing a beak could be fine as a change to keep, but not colossus or storm.

Part or me was disappointed that that psyched us out in Spider-Man: Far From Home when it came to introducing to multiverse because that's how I thought that they were going to introduce the X-Men and Mutants to the MCU. Saying that they're from an alternate earth works, and it could've been set up for them to make their own live action version of the "Avengers vs X-Men" story. The main thing that started the conflict could've been what Rogue did to Captain Marvel to get her powers that she's more well-known for in the comics and cartoons. That would've been a story on par with Captain America: Civil War.

Apparently the reason Storm has more screen time in this is because word about the “Halle script” was revealed. Originally Matthew Vaughn was supposed to be the Director. He found a script and asked what is this. This studio told him it was the “Halle script.” Apparently they created a fake script in order to make sure Halle Berry would sign on for the third movie, by making her think she was getting a bigger role than in the last two films. It apparently involved Storm going to Africa, bringing rainwater to a village. Matthew rightfully walked out on how disrespectful they would do to a A-list celebrity. At least Storm is more memorable here.

Something that drove me crazy in this movie is that, out of all the mutants Storm could’ve told that there’s nothing wrong with their powers, it was Rouge she said it to, one of the mutants whose power has completely changed and was currently preventing her from having any semblance of a regular life. Yes, Storm, tell the girl who can’t touch anyone without fear of killing them that she doesn’t need to take the cure.

There's something that wasn't addressed in this review. Comic book films that delve into major set pieces at the expense of characterization, plot, narrative focus and follow through is what we had before the X-Men films. While the first two X-Men weren't perfect, they at least made an effort to address those elements of filmmaking. As a result, Last Stand was something of a step back, which I think is part of why people hated it so much.
