As a Catholic, the theology in the show is so bad it's legit funny. I'm tempted to believe they did that on purpose. Like the whole idea of Judas Priests is wack, and then the dynamic between protestants and catholics is so stupid and yet so funny. It's like Fate, it's not a show you watch for historical or factual accuracy, you watch it cause its fun.

This episode almost felt like they were apologizing for all the Catholic bashing this series had done by portraying Maxwell as a leader of a heretical faction against the pope. Also, speaking of great dubs, Baccano! has a great dub. It takes place in 1930s America, and even localizes the accents.

Actually that has happened in history, where Antipopes were declared and were often used to try and contol the Catholic world. The main reason the crusades even occurred was because Pope Urban had been kicked out of Rome by the Holy Roman Empire's antipope and wanted to unite all of chirstianity against a common foe instead of watching them fight each other. There are still antipopes today, but most are just cult leaders that dont get noticed outside their own countries.
