I LOVE HOW LUKE SCARED GIDEON, I love how they remember that officers/imperial forces think that Luke killed the emperor and vader. Unlike the first order who were like "oh it's luke skywalker" besides Kylo who was *clearly* scared but was mad at the same time. The Real Luke is the equivalent to Vader when he makes his appearances. Bo Katan was right, a Jedi did appear. The Jedi.

Luke's fighting style is very similar to Vader era Anakin and other veteran Jedi. No flips, rolls or tricks. Of course you can argue that it was cheaper and easier, but I like it either way. Shows how confidant he is that he will get through that hallway with force power and lightsaber parries in mind. Definitely the style he was leading towards from how he fought in the OG trilogy too

Efficiency. Brutal yet elegant efficiency.

Generally it seems like people like more comprehensive fights like this than the acrobatic nonsense in the prequels anyways. Besides I kinda like it being a more unique thing to specific fighters rather than standard Jedi practice to be all flippy. See Anakin and Obi-Wan in Clone Wars, and then look at Ahsoka in Clone Wars. The fact that those two mostly fought normally where Ahsoka did large amounts of acrobatics really added to her uniqueness and improved her character as a whole. I don't wanna take those few moments away by just making everyone into acrobatic monkeys.
@Dr.HooWho3 жыл бұрын
@@CorwinTheOneAndOnly eh a lot also like that style of fighting too Look at obi wan vs anakin that was epic
@ItsAVolcano3 жыл бұрын
In hindsight Luke using the less flippy Kendo-esque form Obi-wan taught him and having a very calm, poised demeanor by Episode VI makes it a lot easier to deep fake him onto a stuntman. Hell of a lot easier to cgi a face in place when it's mostly holding still. Speaking of failure, both Ahsoka and Bo'katan failed many times when we first met them. Hell Bo'katan helped overthrow Mandalore and her actions led to the death of her sister, while as a bratty padawan Ahsoka on multiple occasions led her men into suicidal charges through her own overconfidence. Like you said they both changed, growing as people from the consequences of their actions.
@galadballcrusher81823 жыл бұрын
well using that form shows also maturity in his training and trust on his skill to adjust and parry etc...

Was the last 16 episodes the Book Din Djarin? And is the next season only is going to focus on Bobba Fett?
@Tom-xt1jn3 жыл бұрын
If ya don't already know Star Wars confirmed the Book of Boba Fett will be different than Mando season 3 - so Mandalorian might be book of Din Djarin (that's probably while they called the episode chapters) but Book of Boba is different

At this point they should just declare the sequel trilogy null and void and let people who actually care about the franchise take over while Mark Hamill is still around and willing to film something.

Disney threw the screenplays George Lucas in the trash and went the opposite way, destroying what we loved. George also said that.

Luke in the ST is canon and it makes sence.BUT We ,as SW fans ,we were not ready for it and i don't think we could ever face his passing away in TLJ. SW is our beloved franchise, Luke Skywalker is our hero now and forever. It's true,he never finished his training .I hope Grogu ,learns how to master his abilities and returns to his dad,Din BEFORE Luke starts to teach the new generation of Force sensitives including Ben Solo.

Guess I'm the only one who was okay with Luke in the Last Jedi... Alright.
@DABOLICALC3 жыл бұрын
I mean even mark hamil the actor for Luke Skywalker said that they made a mistake by making the most hopeful Jedi into this decrepit washed up old man who tried to kill his nephew because he sensed the dark side in him, and the problem is that he was willing to kill his nephew for that but when his father a galactic mass genocide machine who blew up a planet and cut down hundreds of thousands of people Luke Skywalker refused to kill him because he sensed good in him. And if that wasn’t bad enough Luke didn’t even die in a blaze of glory like he deserved, he could have been there in person stopping the order while the rest got the chance to escape but instead they had him force project himself and die from using too much force power on a rock on an island, it’s gotta be the worst use of a character I’ve seen.
@Tayvin40423 жыл бұрын
@@DABOLICALC I mean, I disagree with most of those points but going on Mark's opinion on how Luke was written, he's entitled to it but I respectfully disagree with him and, despite his personal issues he still did a great job playing him so hats off to Mark as usual. As to the other points, he never actually tried to kill Ben... it was an instinctual fear-based reaction on the visions he saw of Ben's future. What would be the biggest fear of the man who's the son of Darth Vader? Someone else, like a family member, becoming Darth Vader. Side note, and I admit this is nitpicky, but Vader never blew up Alderaan, he was there, sure, but he never gave the order, that was Tarkin and I don't know why people keep getting that wrong but anyways... Was it wrong for Luke to feel the urge to kill his nephew and ignite his lightsaber, even though he didn't go through with it? Yes, and here's the thing... Luke himself would've agreed, that's why he felt shame and regret the instant he came to his senses. If he had actually gone through with it, then yes it would be completely against his character and the anger would be justified, but he didn't, he just turned on his lightsaber without even thinking and instantly realized how wrong that was. As for the Force projection thing... I couldn't disagree more with you on that, he literally stopped an entire army and bought time for the Resistance to escape without actually being there, instead using his appearance and the *legend* he represented to keep the enemy at bay, without using any offensive actions whatsoever, as Yoda famously said "A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, *never* for attack." What Luke did here was the single most Jedi thing we've ever seen a Jedi do, period and that is as genius as it was badass. And this is my ultimate point here because this is after he realized the most important thing... HE WAS WRONG! That was the point! And he learned from it and became the Jedi we all wanted to be in the end, he was the Jedi who lost hope, regained it, and then promptly used that hope to save everyone, inspiring the next generation and the one after that with his legendary actions. If he had stayed the grouchy old man who refused to help anyone by the end of the movie, I'd be in agreement with the naysayers, but in the end he gave his life using a power to save everyone he loved, something the Luke Skywalker we all know and love would do without hesitation. Now I have my fair share of problems with Last Jedi, don't get me wrong, but Luke Skywalker is not one of them.

@@Tayvin4042 I feel like they could have gotten more out of it though by not killing Luke off but instead having him pick himself up and try again to rebuild the jedi order, stronger for his previous failure.
