thats because space marine are not considered human, all the normal forces 'trying' to defend humanity are human themself..the adeptus Astartes are superhuman being. Thats why they are the only forces within the imperium of man that defend humanity in the literal way. But I do understand that there are more than just them XD Also..they are considered to be the Emperor's children. You cant really say they are not the defender of humanity when all of humanity looked up to the Emperor to protect them?

"Warhammer fantasy is kind of like Warcraft" Fun fact: Blizzard was hired to make a Warhammer Fantasy game but about halfway through development the deal fell through and GW lost interest. Blizzard has a good chunk of the game already done so they did the last bit and changed a lot that was already finished then released it as Warcraft.

I would recomend Astartes 1-4 from the channel Astartes. Off coursethe final part 5 isnt out yet so you may want to wait for it. Helsreach is also very good for 40K content.

Also if you like RTS's Dawn of War Soulstorm modded with the Ultimate Apocalypse modpack is really fun to play as by Lord Cylarn, It's inspired by the Apocalypse game rules from the 40k tabletop game, massive armies and you can play as all the races including the Tyrannids.
