Renewal of an old vice

My first video shows the restoration of an old and interesting #vice that I bought at the city's stock exchange. The #renovation took over half a year because I am in the process of building a new house and I do not have much time to spend on it. The most difficult thing was to thoroughly clean the entire vice because I did not have a sandblasting booth at the time and the brush cannot get everywhere. The jaws were also well knocked out, so there was a lot of work to do with them. The most important thing is that the end result brought me satisfaction, which I wish you too.

I've never seen a vise in that style. You did an amazing restoration. I am in the middle of restoring a small machinist vise. I was polishing a small bolt and it slipped out of my hand and shot across the shop. Guess i now have to make a new one. Your videos are very inspiring. Thank you.

It's beautiful. I love Hammerite finishes. I do not understand the utility of polished steel jaws, though. A vise is made for gripping things tightly. Mirror-polished steel jaw faces will slip. I hope the vise serves you well. Thanks!
