There is even a separate tab of the inventory nowadays for your mats

You could also just use all 8 alts and that way you can have each crew skill at least once with 2 per alt

Does your companion influence level play into any of the trade skill processes? EDIT: In case anyone else has this question, having your companions at level 50 makes a HUGE difference. It gives a 75% time bonus for all crew skills. So a one hour mission would only take 15 minutes. And a 25% critical bonus on crafting, for high end items.
