As a little girl, I used to go with my mother near the AVE tracks in Lleida and watched one or two trains before going to the swimming course or running errands. I was always amazed by those trains (and regular ones too). It's one of the best memories I have from my childhood.

I used to find Talgo trains ugly but they've grown on me and I now see them as iconic and a symbol of Spain. Love the AVE.

These trains are so small like 4-6 coaches only. In India trains are 16-24 coaches but of course slower than 250kmph.
@josemiec65124 жыл бұрын
Well it depends on the train, Avant services (the short ones) are intercity high speed trains (although slower than AVE, 250kph vs 300-310kph) connecting 2 cities that are very close (between 100 km and 200 km), the AVE are more longer services and have higher capacity (between 350 and 500 seats vs ~200/250 seats on Avants). Then if needed higher capacity at rush hours they can use 2 trains sets coupled together. But yeah the longest they can be (using 2 train sets) is around 400m just like the majority of HS trains around the world.
@utsab6114 жыл бұрын
Josemi EC Nice. In India, coaches are certified to operate till180 Kmph only, though they can reach speeds of 200 Kmph, 180 is the highest speed at which Indian trains are allowed to run. High Speed lines are being constructed for 320 Kmph operations, but that’s due in 2023. And, long distance trains are 18-24 coaches which goes upto 600m running for distances upto 4000 Kms. In India, there are trains which takes more than 70 hours from origin to destination.

@@utsab611 yeah I supposed that btw looks like the new high speed trains for that route that your country is building will be like the Shinkansen E5 awesome trains btw. Here in Spain the longest passenger country service could be around 1000km, Spain isn't as big as India after all XD. But an interesting fact is that we have 2 gauges standard, 1435mm, and Iberian 1668mm (we share it with Portugal) so some of our high speed trains are capable of gauge change and run up to 250kph at HS lines and up to 200kph (if the line let you) in Iberian existing lines. Alvia S-121 and S-130 are some examples.
@utsab6114 жыл бұрын
Josemi EC Yes, you got it right. It is Shinkansen E5 India is buying. The first 2 trains will be imported, the rest will be built in India. Honestly, Japan is throwing money at us since they know it for a fact, India is a long term cash cow and if they can settle here once, they will be here till eternity, example the JV between Maruti and Suzuki, they own around 50% of the car market share in India. Yes, India is large and so is the consumer market hence the sudden interest of all American and Japanese companies who are betting here along with the PE and VC Companies. And, India has two gauges as well 1435mm and 1676mm called the Broad Gauge, other than mountain railways, all trains run on Broad Gauge which is why Talgo could make a trial here, sadly that did not go well with our Government and India went indigenous and built Train 18 capable of running at 180 Kmph. By the way, I really like Spain and Italy, they are so colourful and cheerful compared to the otherwise dull Europe, no offence. Note: I just completed watching ‘ Valeria’ on Netflix ;)
@josemiec65124 жыл бұрын
@@utsab611 well I just remembered reading your comments that you also had broad gauge, and about Spain it depends we have a lot of mountains like Italy but more rare and extreme climates. If you go sud in Andalusia you can be in summer at 40°C in cities like Seville and Cordoba and you have almost a desert like climate in Almeria. In the North of Spain you have the Atlantic climate where temperatures rarely go very high and you have a lot of rain. It is practically like east India and west India but in a 1000km zone.
