I've been excited for this show ever since the news came out. The first time I played the game was back in 2014 when the PS4 remaster came out, I was 14 and it scared the crap out of me, still absolutely loved it. I've always had faith on this show, I think Pedro and Bella are the best casting choice they could've done, but hearing your review just makes me even more excited. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on every episode. Definitely subscribed now :)

I know this feeling very well haha A lot of times had that sense as I watched the series even. It's so strange (in a good way) we've become so engrained in this story that it just catches us off guard even years later. Just speaks to its power right? Btw, are you Portuguese?

You know a show is good when you are taken on an emotional rollercoaster even though you know all the plots of the story hahaha - but this was certainly made for everyone, even those who have played the game, because there's a chance Sarah's you know what will hit harder given the time we will spend with her, which I think will be more than 16 minutes. Also, yeah, I'm portuguese! Have you ever been to Portugal?

For season 2 obviously it should be the story from part 2, but for the third, and hopefully final, season.. id like to see more of the stuff joel hinted at in the first game. Tommy's time with the fireflies... the backstory of Joel and how he was directly after Sara, and how he used to ambush people similar to how him and Ellie were ambushed when driving the car by that guy who wasn't really hurt. Maybe some more about the takeover by the military and the actual setting up of all the quarantine zones and the start of his life as a smuggler. There's a ton of backstory there that is worth telling. Yes we know Joel is a hardened survivor, but id love to see his decent into that dark world prior to meeting Ellie

While I respect and applaud 👏 your view I respectfully disagree what I would do for the further seasons Is bridge the gap between end of part 1 and the beginning of part 2 . This would be a great! Opportunity to tell the stories and show what happened 5 years before part 2 so we can be with Joel alittle longer delaying his tragic death

I don't mean to sound disrespectful but how do small channels like yours get the chance to view the entire series? I can understand HBO giving their show to big time channels like IGN, etc. that have more than a million subs. Regardless, I loved your review and I can't wait to watch the show!

First of all thank you for the kind words. As per "how" I've been a certified critics for around 3 years at this point. I not only have this channel but also for several websites (mamasgeeky, filmspeak, GYCO) and am a member of several critics associations. The channel may be small but I've created relationships with the studios and unlile rotten tomatoes they actually look into the quality of content and not just numbers. That's the danger of freelancing, numbers fluctuate unpredictably and with youtube's algorithm it is never a sure thing, so it's a matter of doing work outside of just this channel and getting my name out there. Many other smaller channels also had the privilege of these screeners due to the same reason

While it does look well made, since its' story is so close to the games, what's the point in watching it?! - I'd rather just play the games!! 😯😂🩲😀🤘 . It'd surely be much more worthwhile if it was a new story, with new characters set in The Last of Us' World - kind of like The Walking Dead games Vs the show and comics! 😯😀🤘🤞

It's a different medium of telling the story and therefor a different way of absorbing it. As discussed in the review, the ARE differences even if small. And the series doesn't have to worry about delivering fabulous gameplay. It can dedicate itself entirely to narrative and pathos, and with that it elaborates, expands on different concepts from the games, offers better nuance when it comes to the characters and the performances shine. It's a fair question to ask, and a fair takeaway, but for what it's worth: give the show a chance once you can actually see it. And if you still feel that way after watching, I say it's fair to just play the games You can cherish this story in both the series and the game, we're incredibly lucky to not have to choose. I personally wouldnt want this franchise to become TWD, it's Joel and Ellie's story they are the heart of TLOU and what has elevated this narrative above the rest in this very populated genre

@@RenGeekness That may be what some people want, but as I said, if I just want the story from the game, I'll just play the game! Really a show set in between the two games or adjacent to the games' story and plot would have been better... Say we see some characters just trying to survive in the games' World, we get to know them, then mid way through the series, they hear about the events of the first game, then go looking for Joel and Ellie and find them just as the first series finishes... The second series then we see Joel and Ellie feature in it, but be no more than supporting characters who appear in a handful of scenes to collaborate with and maybe save the series' main characters, kind of like super heroes, though they don't outstay their welcome... Our main characters then go off about their business until around series three or four, when they hear about Joel's murder, cross paths with first Abby and then Ellie again - maybe they become friends with Abby and unwittingly give her information on how to find Joel, so make it their mission to help Ellie catch Abby! Anyway, that's just my "two cents" 🤔😯😂😀🤘
