What is likely the case if there is not much pain during flexion but pain is felt during extension ?

Interesting. I started having pain in the outer parts of the knees after several long hikings. The pain only appeared walking downhill. Then I started having it also when walking for some miles without going downhill or uphill; anyway downhill would always intensify the pain. MRI didn't show any tear in the meniscus. No doctor was able to understand the issue. Anyway I could feel that some stretching or massage of the band that runs on the outer part of the knee was decreasing the pain. Also, pressing on the femur, right above the knee (where the bone enlarges above the joint) I could identify that the pain was coming from there. When doing a radiotherapy, whenever I moved the electrode over that area, I'd feel pain. I did the test that you proposed (after a long walk, that has woken up the pain) and I felt that the pain intensified significantly

Hello tutors ! Do you have good exercises to recommend for this syndrom ? Most of patient I saw and who already went through rehab mostly got massages/stretching/etc... but always focused on the knee. Isn't there some work to do with the hip ??? Thanks for your content ;-)

There is associated weakness in hip flexors and abductors, biomechanical abnormalities like foot pronation and lateral pelvic tilt needs to be corrected, the condition also commonly presents with the trigger points in glute medius, TFL and glute Maximus rightness.... Lot to work on!!

Hey, very common question! content-wise they don't differ much as the app is derived from the content of the book. It's rather a question of what user scenario applies to you: 1) If you rather prefer studying on a big screen attached to a laptop or desktop computer and have no limitations on to what device you would like to install the book on (max. of 2, but mobile devices included) then you should go for the book. We find that the book looks decent on mobile devices but is not as neat as the app. 2) If you'd rather have a quick reference tool in practice or during discussions in a beautiful design, then the app is better for you. If you want the best of both worlds you should obviously get both. To save some money an option would be to share the book with a friend (2 devices can be activated) or you can try to get the app via your educational education (if you are still a student) as Apple and Google both offer a 50% discount to educational institutions if they place a bulk offer of 20+ items. The book is 79,90 €

The test is positive in case of reproduction of lateral knee pain in 30° of flexion that the patient commonly experiences in running
