I enjoyed every time you spoke of how fast the system was, you would show the system moving very slowly.

I live there. Although it’s very handy and the rolling stock is amazing, the metro is often out of services for very long time…

This is a symptom of a crumbling society

@@mayachico9766 it's a symptom of installing a gadget-bahn instead of using a proven technology that was perfected over hundred years ago called the train. I suppose that there must be a national law in France that any mass transit vehicle within cities or metro areas must use rubber tires.

2 to 4 more carriages can be dynamically attached, and removed to make enough seating space, for office hour traffic increases, if required. Metro engineers should install them. 2 carriages, looks very less, for a metro.

now google about the closures and how long the line has been closed because of the technical problems.. yikes

How can rubber tires be efficient?

Seems asi flexibility and terrain. It seems like second best option ;)

Why do cities keep building these stupid golf-cart-on-rails systems instead of proper heavy rail?? It's infuriating

Low budget bro...the federal gov in capital city are building it but with less than 2-3 billion dollars only annual

Rennes is too small for a typical heavy rail metro. This system is a light metro, but using rubber tired vehicles in order to be both cheaper and more flexible in routing (curve grades). The station can fit larger coupled vehicles in case expansion is needed, but for now they prioritize higher frequencies with smaller vehicles. And high frequency is what passengers really like. Made possible because of its automatization (and what makes it better in service than a surface-level tramway). In other words, they're trying to get the best bang for their buck.

@@MrAronymous an automated light metro using steel wheels and rails seems like a much better choice

It's a small city of less than a million (inculding the suburbs, aka the hall metropolitan area). So there is no demand for heavy rail. Also, automating smaller viachles is much easier.
