I've been using renoise for years, but only recently upgraded to 3.x - still wrapping my head around phrases, this was really helpful!
@LacklusterOfficial4 жыл бұрын
This was interesting. I've never thought of phrases being good for loops -- or that the phrases can actually be saved! i had no idea the phrases can be saved, that's really nutty. Should probably do a few days of just doing phrases and getting comfortable with that stuff. Thanks for making this!
@jezgomez4 жыл бұрын
Dude! I've liked your work since the Monotonik days. Great to see you here :)
@LacklusterOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@jezgomez Yay! I've been scripting with Renoise to get it working more akin with how the apps I used during Monotonik times work. That made my Renoise experience far more enjoyable, and, truth be told, worth using. But I come from the "other" camp, i.e. the ST3/IT2 camp, as opposed to the Fast Tracker2 camp :)

Thanks for this vid. Been sat in my to watch list for too long. Great video. That helped me to understand phrases. I've been working very inefficiency for the past few months. Still love my Renoise DAW/tracker. Best in the market.

Thats good. I have only made tracker songs real ”oldskool” way. Never used any phrases and did not know that you can save them too

Yo dude I honestly didnt know you were Bizzy B. Your track Ecstacy is a Science is my favouritetrack if yours. I don't make strictly jungle more techno. But just wondered what equipment you used to use in the 90s as i want ti aquire some. Thinking about the Roland w30 to get that crunchy sampled sound.
@TheOutliersOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Would you recommend the W30? Only asking as I know Liam Howlett used them on my favorite rave album. And im on a budget lol

So basically it's like an assignable "step-sequenced patterns"? Like a drum-machine patterns that are triggerable from keyboard?

Is Renoise your main DAW? it is for me but then I mix in Logic. Something about vertical sequencing that makes sense to me.
@TheBizzyBScience3 жыл бұрын
It is indeed, I have done the works in there , arrange, mix too but Logic is great for final mix also

@@TheBizzyBScience bro, I was watching your channel last night because I use Renoise as my main DAW. I have a similar setup like yours but I do the Rave Techno(89-92 circa). Have you heard of 808 State? that's my thing. Anyway, I never got into chopping beats.. I program midi on RENOISE.. But now, I discovered this thing you did re: Phrase Chopping.. WOWWW!! I tried it this morning and it's a game changer for me.. because? now I can create any beat at any tempo without losing the pitch.. RENOISE doesn't have a nice pitch shifting like Ableton. But the chopping is it's strength of RENOISE. Thanks man.. I'm excited with my new tunes
@TheBizzyBScience3 жыл бұрын
@@markchristopher2signal2 Oh yes , 808 state is my prime era! the good old days! glad to hear the prase thing works for you.

So Phrases are like little mini-patterns that make up a complete Pattern?
@TheBizzyBScience6 ай бұрын
phrases are pre programed notes in patterns that you can assign to keys
